— As noted on Monday here on the website, TNA had some of their “street team” members handing out flyers at the ROH “War of the Worlds” iPPV event at the Hammersteim Ballroom in New York City. As you’d imagine, the flyers were promoting the TNA iMPACT! tapings at the Hammerstein Ballroom later this summer.
— We recently reported that former WWE talent Sakamoto was at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL. It turns out that he was just visiting some friends and it doesn’t look like he’ll be signing with the company unless they offer him a deal. As previously noted, there was some speculation that he may have been used as a translator for KENTA when he debuts with WWE but that doesn’t appear to be the case. For what it’s worth, Sakamoto is said to be interested in returning to WWE or debuting with TNA if they are interested. We’re also told Sakamoto was actually in Orlando, FL to meet with TNA officials and wound up stopping by the WWE Performance Center while there. Funny how things work, huh?
— Based on several fan reports, here are some recent TNA attendance figures:
* May 17th – Biloxi, Mississippi – 250 fans.
* May 18th – Hattiesburg, Mississippi – 300 fans.
If those numbers are true – OUCH!
