UPDATE: As noted earlier, WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross revealed on his official Twitter account that he will be making his return to television announcing, as he will be part of the commentary team for the Golden Boy Live boxing show on FOX Sports 1 on Memorial Day in El Paso, Texas.
According to reports, JR had been in talks with FS1 for about a week or two regarding the job, with FS1 hoping that it would create some media interest in the show, which runs head-to-head with WWE RAW on May 26th.
The show will feature Rene Alvarado defending his WBC Super Featherweight Championship against Rocky Juarez in a main event of a show that will feature U.S. Army boxers in undercard matches.
Tickets to the show, which will be held at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, will be free for members of the U.S. military.
JR tweeted the following to confirm the news:

Ross had been talking with FOX Sports 1 for at least a week about this. FS 1 is hoping that the media exposure will bring more interest to the show. The show would go head to head against the May 26th edition of RAW. Ross has followed boxing since the 60s and on his podcast has said that he would be interested in calling MMA or boxing fights.
The show will have a UFC Fight for the Troops feel since it will be held at the Fort Bliss Army base and will be attended by members of the military. Congrats to JR for the gig.
