Batista is scheduled for tonight’s post-Extreme Rules edition of WWE RAW, which emanates from Albany, New York. According to reports, hours before The Shield vs. Evolution match last night, nothing had been settled as far as plans for Batista going forward.
As previously reported, the original plan was for a Batista vs. Daniel Bryan main event at the upcoming WWE Payback pay-per-view, however Batista turned that idea down. Apparently Vince McMahon and other WWE officials were less than pleased with Batista changing their plans for the show, however McMahon is still looking to talk Batista into doing the program with Bryan before taking his hiatus.
It should be noted that when Batista agreed to return to WWE late last year, the company promised him the main event at WrestleMania 30 and a World title run. Those plans changed when the crowd booed the hell out of him when he returned. WWE officials described the return as a “massive failure” and changed course. That obviously didn’t sit well with “Big Dave” as he feels WWE isn’t delivering on their promises.
With that being said, WWE is still looking to convince Batista to work a program with Daniel Bryan for the main event of the upcoming WWE Payback pay-per-view. If those plans fail, WWE already set the stage for their alternative option.
WWE’s “plan B” for the Payback show is to have Daniel Bryan vs. Kane in a Buried Alive match. WWE set things in motion to go that direction at Extreme Rules, as that was said to be the reason that Kane sat-up at the finish of last night’s main event. The feeling was that they needed that last scene in case they are forced to go in that direction.
ORIGINAL: According to sources, Batista is reportedly upset over money and pay in WWE.
As previously reported, the original plan was for Batista to face Daniel Bryan at WWE Payback in June, which Batista allegedly turned down. The source says that Batista is frustrated that financially, things are panning out differently than what he was told when he agreed to return to WWE. Word is that the money is “not great” right now, and when you have the kind of money Batista has, it makes it that much easier to walk away from WWE. Others are said to be upset, but do not have the option to walk away like Batista or CM Punk.
Batista was scheduled to take the time off later in June, but with the issues, he decided to take an earlier break from the company. WWE officials spent most of Sunday trying to convince Batista to work the Payback PPV, but the latest is that it doesn’t look good for him to stick around for that show.
