Sheamus vs. Lawler Angle Quietly Dropped, Mysterio’s WWE Future

Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

— Jerry Lawler was scheduled to work an indy show in New York on November 21 — five days after his angle with Sheamus on Monday Night RAW — but his people sent a text message to the promoter saying “due to an ongoing storyline, Jerry Lawler can’t make his appearance.” The angle was noted at the Survivor Series, but dropped completely the next night on RAW with Lawler offering an explanation that made him come off bad. In the past, Lawler has hated coming off in that manner since he still wrestles.

— In a trivia note, before last week’s Hulkamania – Let the Battle Begin tour of Australia, the last time Hulk Hogan wrestled Ric Flair in a singles matches was on the May 13, 2002 episode of Monday Night RAW.

— Rey Mysterio intends to work through his latest knee injury until after WrestleMania XXVI. He will then undergo his sixth surgery on his left knee. With the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania being the most lucrative periods of the year, he obviously doesn’t want to miss out.
