HBK Speaks Out – WrestleMania, Punk Comparisons, HHH

The Huffington Post’s online show spoke with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels who hinted at his involvement in the Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar Match at WrestleMania this weekend. Below are some highlights:

Michaels on being in Triple H’s corner: “Obviously, I’m going to be there in his (Hunter’s) corner. The whole time. Yeah, you can’t have WrestleMania without Mr. WrestleMania if I’m just standing there. I’m going to do something. Are you kidding me? I’m going to stick my nose in there and do something. I’m going to cause some kind of trouble, I just hope it’s not for Hunter (whose career is on the line in the storyline).”

On the challenge of WWE delivering original television every week: “They have a lot more television shows and the challenge for them is – it’s tough to continue be creative when you’re producing four television shows a week. You have a live Monday Night Raw every Monday night 52 weeks a year, so it’s an Iron Man’s job.”

Michaels speaks on the physicality of the schedule: “It’s an unbelievably physically-demanding job. You’re doing it 250 days a year in different cities every night. Other jobs are tough as well, but football, basketball, and baseball are seasonal. In MMA, they’ll take three or four fights a year. It has its tough job requirements as well, but WWE is no cake-walk, but it is a glorious existence.”

His thoughts on CM Punk being compared to himself: “I think he’s going to be his own guy and that’s what I like about Punk. He’s got a great attitude, so he’s certainly going to be one of the guys who is the future of WWE.”
