Backstage Update: John Laurinaitis’ WWE Future

Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

We noted last week here on the website that the future of John Laurinaitis in WWE has been a hot topic among employees since he had yet to resume his behind-the-scenes duties after undergoing rotator cuff surgery in September not to mention that he no longer held an office at WWE’s corporate facility in Stamford, Connecticut.

The former Senior Vice President of Talent Operations arrived in Greensboro, North Carolina, last Sunday night for last Monday’s RAW taping. This surprised a number of his co-workers who believed he would not resurface. As seen on RAW last week, he did not appear live on the show but was backstage working behind-the-scenes.

As far as Laurinaitis’s current WWE job duties are concerned, he still helps out with the creative side of things and also helps book the finishes for matches of certain wrestlers as we previously reported here on the website. He is said to be happy with his current involvement with the company and doesn’t have to deal with nearly as much stress as he has in the past.

Laurinaitis is currently backstage at tonight’s Tribute to the Troops tapings in Norfolk, VA. It is believed that he will eventually be back on camera once he has fully recovered from rotator cuff surgery.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
