At last night’s WWE Smackdown tapings, Jeff Hardy lost a loser leaves WWE cage match to World Champion CM Punk.
Jeff Hardy has been told by WWE management that the door is always open for him to return to the company. They also told him that if they could help him with any of his outside projects, such as his band Peroxwhy?gen or his potential reality show, that they would gladly work him into their “synergy”.
Hardy explained that that he was not leaving the company due to unhappiness. He simply wants time off of the road, so that he can do things at his own pace.
Most feel that it will be when, not if for his return. The feeling is that his departure is similar to Chris Jericho’s a few years ago. Jericho left to work on acting and music projects, and then returned to the company, and with a more prominent position.
Hardy has received a ton of praise for his final months with the company. The feeling is that he helped bring CM Punk to a new level in the company, and now Punk is a legit force to go against the Undertaker, which will cement his position on the Smackdown side of things. It is thought that Hardy helped with Punk’s evolution to one of, if not the top heel in the company.
