— WWE’s creative team has been seriously discussing having Dolph Ziggler cash in his Money in the Bank shot at Night of Champions tonight. Management believes that Ziggler is on the verge of breaking into the main event spot.
— Former WWE roster member Chris Nowinski was part of a team of brain and concussion researchers who have found that Minnesota Vikings legend Wally Hilgenberg’s death was due to brain trauma and not Lou Gehrig’s disease. Hilgenberg passed away in 2008 at the age of 66 and the new report says that the cause of death was “repetitive brain trauma brought on by more than 20 years of high school, college and pro football” according to doctors at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy at Boston University.
The Star-Tribune reports that Hilgenberg’s family are now “deeply conflicted” about the sport, despite his grandchildren’s involvement in it. Nowinski reportedly called the family in order to study Hilgenberg’s brain, after which it was determined that he “did not have ALS, but a new disease associated with repetitive brain trauma that mimicked ALS.”
