Santino Marella’s Storyline + Jackson Push Nixed?

Partial Source: The Wrestling Observer

— The ongoing storyline with Santino Marella playing the “underdog” role as of late is a play on the current Jeremy Lin/New York Knicks hype. Santino got the Elimination Chamber spot due to Randy Orton’s injury and Lin’s current popularity.

— As of just last week, WWE officials had been considering pushing Ezekiel Jackson once again. It appears as though those plans have been nixed after Jackson lost a match to David Otunga on RAW. Jackson has now lost five straight televised matches and has no TV or pay-per-view wins in 2012 yet.

— Mick Foley recently tweeted his top three career regrets. They are not wrestling Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 17, not wrestling on the first Eddie Gilbert memorial show and not writing the foreword to the Lou Thesz autobiography when asked. As it pertains to wrestling Vince at WrestleMania 17, Foley noted that he truly believed he wouldn’t be wrestling again so he turned the match down.
