Would RVD Return Full-Time?, The Rock/Wrestling, & More

Mediapost.com has an article up looking at how MyNetworkTV is restructuring their deals with affiliates which basically more bad news for the network. They had originally signed all deals with affiliates to five year contracts when the network started and are now asking for one year deals that would end in September 2010. As you can guess, they are spinning it positively saying it gives the network room to maneuver.

Mike sent the following: Hey thought you might want to know that Rob Van Dam was recently interviewed by BE! Magazine and when talked about a full time return to wrestling he said this: “I miss showing off in the ring in front of thousands of people, but not enough to trade in my life at home for it, yet. It’s the non-stop travel that I’ve had enough of in the last 19 years or so. Still, I know I could come back and go straight to the top any day I wanted, and there’s a lot of contentment in that.”

MovieHole.net recently conducted an interview with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, star of Race to Witch Mountain. Johnson is asked about his progression as an actor, and says performing in front of a wrestling audience 52 weeks a year served him a great deal. Johnson said: “Which I am excited about, and for me it was just a matter of growth and trying to find and create opportunities where I can grow and where I can entertain audiences too and continue to build my audience but wrestling served me a great deal. It gave me a great platform and just really great opportunities that I didn’t understand then, to be honest with you, back then I was flying by the seat of my pants and every week, there are no seasons, 52 weeks a year you are doing television shows so I was having a great time and we had a lot of fun creating that character. But now looking back at it, it served me a great deal. It served me wonderfully well to be in that environment, that style of shooting, gorilla style, regardless of what we throw at you we go live at 9, you are going to get new pages at 8:55 and you got two hours live. And you’ve got 20 minutes, here’s your monologue, whatever it is and so that every week served me in a great way now and helped me because that was my training ground.”
