Nick Wayne Teases Split with Christian Cage & The Patriarchy
Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured Nick Wayne teasing a future split from Christian Cage & The Patriarchy.
During the show, Renee Paquette attempted to interview Cage & The Patriarchy over his failed cash-in at AEW Revolution 2025. This led to Cage demanding Paquette to leave since she is associated with Moxley and wants nothing to do with her. After Paquette left, Cage responded stating that he specially had demanded a one-on-one title shot against Cope and claimed that his cash-in was invalid because Jon Moxley applied an “illegal chokehold.” Cage then demanded his title shot contract and after some more words, Wayne interrupted saying that all Cage was doing was giving excuses.
Wayne stated that had Cage stuck to the original plan, he would be World Champion. Wayne then stated that Cage owes them an explanation and an apology. This led to Cage responding by shoving Wayne and an angry Mother Wayne confronting Cage over what he did. Cage responded insulting Mother Wayne and then confronted Wayne face-to-face and proceeded to dish out a series of insults directed at Wayne’s deceased father and told him to fall in line or there will be consequences. Cage then walked away and Kip Sabian gave a disappointed look at Wayne before leaving as well.

Will Ospreay Declares for 2025 Men’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament
Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured Will Ospreay officially declaring himself for this year’s Men’s Owen Hart Cup Foundation tournament.
During the show, Ospreay came out to the ring for an interview with Tony Schiavone. After some words about him still feeling the effects from his steel cage match against Kyle Fletcher and a having to lie to his wife about him promosing to not do anything crazy from the top of the cage, Ospreay turned his attention towards the AEW World Championship. Ospreay talked about how Cope had his shot at Revolution and Swerve Strickland will have his shot at Dynasty, he asked when it will be his time and looked at the giant All In Texas sign in the rafters. Ospreay stated that there is no better chance to stake his claim for a shot than to declare himself for the Men’s Owen Hart Cup and win it and go on to All In and defeat either Swerve or Jon Moxley for the title.
