Dani Palmer Suffered Injury at WWE Evolve Tapings

WWE NXT talent Dani Palmer reportedly suffered an injury at a recent taping for WWE’s upcoming new WWE EVOLVE series at their Performance Center, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

No other details were given by Dave Meltzer regarding the nature nor severity of the injury.

Meltzer reported that the reason why Palmer was working at the WWE EVOLVE tapings was due to her not being used on regular NXT television since coming back from her double hip injury and surgery this past August.


More on NXT Feb. 25, 2025 Viewership

The February 25th episode of WWE NXT saw NXT gain a very large increase in overall viewership and a slight increase in key demographic ratings.

NXT drew 799,000 viewers and a 0.19 key demographic rating on The CW.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for NXT’s increases this week was due to the large increase from their overall key demographic viewership group, which was up 14.4% compared to last week’s show. In regards to NXT’s key demographic viewership increase, their younger key demographic viewership group was up 44.4% compared to last week’s show. Meltzer reported that NXT’s show had average of 1.30 viewers per home meaning most watched the show alone and the increases was mainly due to more homes tuned into the show.

In terms of head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Orlando Magic drew 934,000 viewers on TNT, the College basketball game of Duke vs. Miami drew 672,000 viewers on ESPN, the College basketball game of Mississippi State vs. Alabama drew 306,000 viewers on ESPN2, the TGL Golf game of Bay Golf Club vs. Jupiter Links Golf Club drew 384,000 viewers on ESPN, Curse of Oak Island drew 1,716,000 viewers on History Channel, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta drew 343,000 viewers on MTV, 7 Little Johnstons drew 419,000 viewers on TLC, Moonshiners drew 618,000 viewers on Discovery Channel, and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills drew 849,000 viewers on BRAVO.

In terms of key demographic viewership, NXT had 254,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that NXT’s male/female viewership skew was 70.9% in favor of males.

In terms of peak viewership, NXT’s peak overall viewership was at 867,000 viewers for the quarter hour featuring the Hardys vs. No Quarter Catch Crew tag team match. NXT’s peak key demographic viewership was not given but its peak rating was for the same quarter.

In terms of yearly comparisons, NXT was up 40.2% in overall viewership and up 18.7% in key demographic viewership.


WWE News & Notes

WWE reportedly has sold and distributed around 31,559 tickets for Saturday’s Elimination Chamber 2025 event at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as of this past Thursday, according to WrestleTix.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE’s ticket sales for this year’s Elimination Chamber event is currently the fifth largest ever for a pro wrestling event in Canada, behind WrestleMania VI, WrestleMania X8, a WWE RAW show in 1999, and the 1986 Hulk Hogan vs Paul Orndorff match event. Meltzer reported that the current gate for this year’s Elimination Chamber event is the largest ever for a pro wrestling event in Canada.

WWE recently released a new “By The Numbers” video for their upcoming Men’s and Women’s Elimination Chamber matches at this Saturday’s Elimination Chamber 2025 event.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that several people within WWE were upset over the new main advertisement for Elimination Chamber 2025 had removed everyone had been on the prior ad only to be replaced but just Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for the new version.

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in Toronto, Ontario, Canada featured Solo Sikoa attacking Cody Rhodes in a post-show dark segment. Despite the ambush attack, Rhodes managed to regain the upper hand and laid out Sikoa to stand tall in the end.

Friday’s WWE Speed show on Twitter featured Dominik Mysterio defeating Chris Sabin to advance to the next round of WWE’s newest #1 Contender’s tournament for the WWE Speed Championship. Mysterio will be facing off against the winner of Ivar/Yoshiki Inamura in the Finals of WWE’s current tournament.

As noted before, the February 18th episode of WWE NXT featured former AEW talent Ricky Starks revealing his new ring name of “Ricky Saints” for his WWE career going forward. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported in a recent Q&A article that the reason for the ring name change for Saints was simply due to WWE wanting to trademark a ring name themselves.

WWE recently revealed the next match in their on-going countdown of their Top 50 matches in WrestleMania history. The 48th spot was the John Cena vs. The Rock match from WrestleMania XXVIII.

WWE recently released three new videos to their WWE Vault channel on YouTube. The first new video was a live stream of “The Rock’s most electrifying matches.” The second new video was a “Elimination Chamber footage we found in the WWE Vault.” The third new video was a WWE Championship #1 Contender Elimination Chamber match of Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho vs. Umaga vs. John Bradshaw Layfield from WWE No Way Out 2008.

WWE also recently released two new videos to their NXT Vault channel on YouTube. The first new video was the full October 23, 2013 episode of WWE NXT. The second new video was the full May 11, 2010 episode of WWE NXT.
