Britt Baker AEW Absence Status Update

Britt Baker has been absent from AEW programming since this past November.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that his sources stated the reason for Baker’s current abscense is due to her taking time off from AEW and not due to her being done from the company.

Sapp reported that those spoken to stated that Baker might get more credit if people knew what she had went through outside of AEW.

Sapp also reported that part of Baker’s time off from AEW had included her being involved in a role she had filmed for the final season of the Cobra Kai series that recently released on Netflix.

Frankie Kazarian Comments on a Variety of Reasons Led to Him No Longer Wanting to be in AEW’s Locker Room

A recent virtual fan signing event for K&S WrestleFest featured former AEW and current TNA talent Frankie Kazarian as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Kazarian’s thoughts about his reason for leaving AEW in 2023.

“Funny thing about my wife (Traci Brooks) — she obviously knows the business very well — she went to one (AEW) show. Physically went there with me. She was in there for maybe a half an hour and she pulled me aside and said, ‘You have got to get out of here…’ And this was a year and a half before I left. If you know my wife, she’s the friendliest human being on planet earth, everybody loves her and she saw, like a half an hour, she’s like, ‘You have got to get out of here’ and I was like, ‘See.’ She knew my frustrations at the time and she just got that vibe too so, and I’m not burying the company to all the AEW fans. It’s a fine place if that’s what you enjoy but, just wasn’t for me.”

Kazarian also gave his thoughts about how some of his frustrations in AEW came down to management and leadership-related issues.

“It all comes down to management, leadership. I felt that there really wasn’t any, especially if you were not one of the featured acts. I get [it]. TK is a very, very nice guy, and I do like Tony, but his attention is on those that are on the program, and towards the end, I wasn’t one of them, and that was fine.”

Kazarian also gave his thoughts about how he had reached a point during his time in AEW where he no longer wanted to be in the locker room and would begin changing with the coaches instead for shows.

” The AEW locker room when I was there, for the last two years I was there, I changed with the coaches because I just didn’t wanna be in the locker room for a variety of reasons and I had friends that — you know, Arn Anderson and Jerry Lynn and Billy Gunn and those guys, these are my buddies. Guys I kind of had more in common with so, yeah, TNA, I actually enjoy being in the locker room because my friends are there and everyone is focused on the same goal. It’s legit the funnest locker room I’ve ever been in.”
