Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

This past Saturday’s WWE Royal Rumble 2025 event in Indianapolis, Indiana featured TNA World Champion Joe Hendry making a surprise appearance as one of the surprise entrants for the Men’s Royal Rumble match. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Hendry ended up missing his scheduled booking for Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea cruise event this past weekend. Hendry reportedly had been scheduled to depart from Florida but his travel plans changed once he was booked for the Men’s Rumble match. Hendry reportedly had planned to travel to the Dominican Republic and join the cruise but was unable to do so due to paperwork issues. These issues reportedly involved him needing certain documentation to fly there that wouldn’t have been required if he sailed in. Johnson reported that Hendry had spent all day this past Sunday trying to find a way to get himself to the cruise but eventually gave up. Johnson also reported that Toni Storm replaced Hendry for his scheduled Q&A session at the cruise.

As noted before, former WWE NXT and Impact/TNA talent Kimber Lee was arrested in May of 2023 following a DUI incident involving the assault of a police officer in Serbing, Florida. Johnson reported that Lee is currently facing the possibility of up to five to ten years in prison or five years of probation if convicted of the serious charges against her.

Hartwell stated “I’m rocking this new t-shirt. I had this t-shirt for sale, and this is the t-shirt I was talking about. This is for the cover art for my new entrance music. I don’t think I’ve posted this anywhere, I think I posted it maybe on my Instagram subscribers, but this photo shoot was done for the cover art for my new entrance music by the band Downstait. That song, I don’t have a date for the official release, but I have the song. I have the official ready song. In a recent interview with Fightful, Eric Bischoff gave his thoughts about the process that led to him recently working with Major League Wrestling. Bischoff stated “We’ve had numerous conversations I would say over the last four, five, six years maybe. But it’s either because of my schedule or whatever, there’s always been a conflict and it’s never worked out for me to be able to make an appearance in MLW. The last time they reached out I thought, ‘You know what, I need to have some fun. I need to get out of the house and kind of put my toe in the water and see if I can still have fun doing this stuff,’ because it’s really been a long time since I’ve been out in front of the camera as a performer and it was a good opportunity. So I took it and I was in New York in December and had a blast, enjoyed myself. It was a little rough. Believe it or not, there is ring rust for non-wrestling characters as well, so I kind of stumbled through a few things that made me a little uncomfortable with my own performance and thought, ‘Okay, I don’t want to go out quite like that. I want to go out at the top of my game or as close to it as I could get.’ So I said, ‘Let’s do one more. Like, let me get out there in front of that crowd one more time to see if I could stir some shit.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
