As noted before, Odyssey Jones was released from WWE this past September following allegations of domestic violence against him. Jones recently issued an official statement denying the allegations and stating that he was seeking legal action against his accuser. Jones was granted an order of protection against his former partner in September of 2024.
Post Wrestling and Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston reported that the ex-partner of Jones, real name Omari Palmer, had claimed that Jones engaged in physical abuse against her based on a police report filed in May of 2024.
Thurston reported that Palmer’s ex-partner also had responded to a request for an interview and elaborated on her allegations and other incidents of abuse committed by Palmer.
In regards to the police report, Thurston reported that this was filed on May 23, 2024 by the Maitland Police Department. In the police report, it was stated that allegations of battery against Palmer’s ex-partner allegedly took place on Mat 17, 2024. Palmer’s ex-partner told officers that Palmer became “extremely angry” after discovering text messages she had sent to another man. She alleged that Palmer threw items, grabbed her, and slammed her to the floor twice.
Photos of the bruises on her shoulders and both legs that she claimed were caused by Palmer were included in the police’s report.
Thurston reported that this police report also contained a response by Palmer denying the allegations of battery. Palmer confirmed that he became upset and threw objects around the apartment but denied throwing objects at her. Palmer also claimed that neither of them became physical during the incident.
In the interview with Post Wrestling, Palmer’s ex-partner stated:
“He got upset over me texting someone and started throwing me around along with household items and my personal belongings.”
Thurston reported that officer Willington Camargo, author of the police report, stated “I respectfully request that charges be filled [sic] on [Palmer] for battery, one count.”
Thurston also reported that when contacted for a response, the Orange County State Attorney’s Office confirmed that the case is still under review and no decision has bee made yet on whether to formally press charges.
Palmer’s ex-partner also alleges that Palmer committed additional incidents of abuse against her during a Caribbean cruise trip shortly following the May 17th incident. She alleged that Palmer had threatened to break her phones before leaving and insisted that she was not going anywhere because the trip was already planned out.
Palmer’s ex-partner stated:
“I told him I saw where this was going and I was going to leave because things were not going to go good on the cruise. It was repeated behavior so I saw it coming. He told me to sit my ass down and calm down, that we were leaving the following morning for the trip.”
Palmer’s ex-partner also alleges that the physical abuse continued and she has suffered a concussion, destroyed their cabin and threw one of her phones into the sea. She also claimed that she had bruises all over her body.
Thurston reported that Palmer’s filing for an order of protection against his ex-partner that included a claim that he had filed a police report over claims of her stalking him was something that the Maitland Police Department informed him that no record of such a report exists.
In regards to Palmer’s protective order, Palmer’s ex-partner denied Palmers claims of her committing violence, harassment, and threats. She stated that she believes Palmer was granted the protective order partly due to she had lacked legal representation in Florida since she does not live in the state.
“Omari twisted the story to benefit him and told his lawyer a bunch of lies which clearly were not backed up by evidence.”
Palmer’s ex-partner also stated that WWE had conducted their own investigation into her claims and ultimately terminated Palmer’s contract with the company in September 2024. She also stated that WWE had contacted her to discuss the matter over the course of their investigation.
Palmer’s ex-partner also stated that Palmer had “begged me to forgive him every time. It’s like two people live in one body” and “He put me through so much mental anguish. No one knows what happens behind closed doors.”
In regards to Palmer’s alleged behavior swings, Palmer’s ex-partner stated “He would have violent outbursts and increasingly erratic frustration periods and take them out on me.”
In a closing statement to Post Wrestling, Palmer’s ex-partner stated:
“I used to feel bad for Omari and hoped he would change his erratic behavior and abusive ways towards me. He portrays [himself] to be someone else to the public, to his fans, to his parents. No one knows a lot of the things I’ve kept quiet and endured. I wanted to protect him and love him but it reached a point where enough was enough.”
