Michin Comments on Her Dumpster Match with Chelsea Green & Wrestling Career Future
A recent episode of the Casual Conversations with The Classic podcast featured Michin as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Michin’s thoughts about her Dumpster match against Chelsea Green from the October 4th WWE SmackDown show.
“With Chelsea and the Dumpster Match, oh my goodness. We’ve had such a long history that I can’t imagine…so the dumpster was a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be. So when I saw it, I was like, oh boy. Chelsea might hit her head, and that’s not what I want to do to her. But I think because me and Chelsea, we joke all the time because we can communicate with each other without even speaking, which is crazy. But that’s just how our history has formed. So it’s like I’m just glad it’s with Chelsea because we both trust each other to the point where it’s like, yeah, you can throw me in that little old dumpster. I know you’re not gonna hit my head. It’s like, oh great, pressure’s on me. But I’d never had a dumpster match before, so it just felt like someone released me into a ball pit to just go and have fun. I told her, even though you won [the title] and we had all these special moments, just know I’m not gonna stop chasing you, so this isn’t over.”
Michin also gave her thoughts about the future of her wrestling career and not being interested in opening a wrestling school.
“A lot of people are like, ‘You should train people.’ I don’t have the patience for it [laughs]. If they ask, going down to NXT, that really opened my eyes to seeing the talent down there and them wanting to learn from me. To me, I still have the mentality that I’m still ‘lil’ ol’ Mia Yim, who am I?’ For them to come to me and ask me questions like, ‘What do you think about this?’ and be giving them suggestions. I would never open up a school, but if I have somebody come up to me, ‘Hey, can you watch my match? Can you give me feedback?’ Things like that, I’m more than happy to do that.”

In a recent interview with the Battleground Podcast, Sami Zayn gave his thoughts about Kevin Owens hitting a Package Piledriver to Cody Rhodes during a post-show attack following WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event show earlier this month in Uniondale, New York. Zayn stated “I mean, pretty crazy to see the Package Piledriver on WWE TV, first and foremost. I feel like I used to take that move a lot. My neck is not so good nowadays, and it’s probably better that I haven’t taken that move in a long time. It was almost like seeing a ghost. You know what? I mean, it was very strange, like a memoir of a past life. For me, personally, just seeing that was kind of a bit of a surreal moment.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
As noted before, Charlotte Flair has been out of action for WWE since December of 2023 due to a torn ACL, torn meniscus, and torn MCL injuries and underwent surgery this past January. In a recent interview with the Busted Open Radio podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair gave his thoughts about his daughter Charlotte’s potential return from injury to WWE. Flair stated “It’s time. John Cena doesn’t want to break the record, he doesn’t given a shit about that. John is in a different world now. Wrestling will always be his passion, but he doesn’t care about beating (the record). I still think the biggest thing in the business, when it happens, it’ll be a real game changer, just like she is in real life, is her breaking the title record or even tying it. I believe it’s in the cards. I can look at the show and watch. It’s a woman’s world now and she’s the best woman’s wrestler alive. I think maybe this time off, as unfortunate as it was because of the severity of the injury, I think she’s been able to look back and realize just how damn good she is. I guarantee, when she walks back in the door at whatever show, SmackDown or Raw, it’s a game changer. I would bet $10,000 that the first match she wrestles, if it’s a good opponent, would get a rating that will be the highest women’s rating in a long time in a singles match.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
