Konosuke Takeshita Comments on Being Happy Over Reaction from Fellow Wrestlers for His AEW International Title Victory

DDT Pro Wrestling’s official website held a recent interview with Konosuke Takeshita. One of the topics discussed included Takeshita’s thoughts about his recent AEW International Championship victory and being happy over the reaction from fellow colleagues telling him that he deserved the victory.

“I feel half a sense of having finally won the title, and half a sense of feeling that I have a long way to go. No matter how much my level improves, there is a fine line between winning a title at AEW and not. Even if I had a chance, it would be like threading a needle in a haystack. Living in the U.S., I realized what it was like to fight, so I am glad I won.

Antonio Honda, who is my father in pro wrestling, said to me, ‘Take-chan, pro wrestling is a big place.’ He said, ‘Take-chan, wrestling is a family in the broadest sense; DDT, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and WWE are all family even though they are in different organizations, and the legendary wrestlers are like my grandparents. Everything is connected, so you have to love your family. That was a fundamental part of what I valued in my wrestling career. At the time, I was jokingly mentioning the names of WWE athletes, but now, as I work with these people, I feel that those words were true and that we are truly connected. If they don’t trust you, you can’t become family. That is why I have put my heart and soul into each and every match. When I won the belt, the players around me said, ‘You are a man who deserves this belt! I was told by the wrestlers around me, ‘You are the man who deserves this belt! I was happy that they said that to me, even though we live in a competitive world.”

Will Ospreay Comments on “I Flipping Love AEW, We Have The Most Talented Roster In The World”

Will Ospreay recently reflected on Twitter about him heading home to England to spend the holidays with his family and how he is proud to be part of AEW and thanked everyone in the company and fans.

And just like that I’m heading home to my family in England.

I wanna take this opportunity to thank everyone in AEW’s crew, production, hair stylists, trainers, doctors, coaches & everyone that works hard behind the curtain to make everyone tick over.

To all the coaches that lend their expertise to assist all of us.

To all the wrestlers Men, Women or however you identify. I cannot express what an honour it is to be able to be on the same team as you all.

We truly have the most talented roster in all of the wrestling world. It makes me feel proud to be part of the company knowing we are all pushing in the same direction.

To the fans in Washington DC & New York. You guys give me so much life and the fact you have opened your door to me and let me call AEW my home gives sets my heart on forever. I genuinely love your support and cannot tell you enough how grateful I am for you.

And lastly thank you so much to @TonyKhan. Your kindness is something that we all love about you. You’ve changed so many people’s life and without you we all wouldn’t be able to feed our families and provide comfort to them.

I flipping love @AEW. Happy holidays guys.

Shelton Benjamin Comments on His Current Run in AEW

Inside The Ropes held a recent interview with Shelton Benjamin. One of the topics discussed included Benjamin’s thoughts about his current career in AEW and feeling that he has been having great matches with everyone he has faced in the company.

“My biggest surprise is that the fans really appreciate what I bring to the table. I found that I have a lot of great chemistry with the guys I’ve been working. I feel like I’ve been having nothing but just great matches with pretty much everyone I’ve been in the ring with.”

Benjamin also gave his praise of being able to gel so well with many people he has never worked with before in his wrestling career.

“Just the fact that I’ve been able to gel so well with guys who I never have worked with before and put on great performances, that has been the biggest surprise to me. It shouldn’t be, because again, these are some of the best athletes in the world, some of the best professional wrestlers in the world. But it’s definitely a pleasant surprise.”
