WWE Reportedly Cancelling Tribute to the Troops Specials
WWE reportedly recently cancelled their annual Tribute to the Troops television specials, according to the Wrestling Observer Radio.
Dave Meltzer reported that while no formal announcement had been made yet, one source within WWE confirmed that the company will no longer be holding their annual event going forward.
Meltzer reported that this show was a Vince McMahon and WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield creation as a year-end event tradition for the company.
Prior to the cancellation decision, WWE had held a Tribute to the Troops show since 2003, first held overseas at United States military bases until 2009 and the stateside afterwards.

Oba Femi Comments on Him Changing Perception of the Big Man & Wants to Bring That to Main Roster
Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown on SI held a recent interview with Oba Femi. One of the topics discussed included Femi’s thoughts about him helping change the perception of the “Big Man” in WWE’s NXT brand and him wanting to bring that to the main roster.
“I want to take what I’ve done here in NXT, and that is redefine what the big man style is, and I plan to take it up there and throw it in the mix. I think I’ve done a good job of putting a spin on what the typical big man is. I’ve shown that the typical big man – the new big man, let’s call it that, the new big man is a talker, the new big man is a thinker, and the new big man moves fast. I’m changing the perception of what that is. I hope that I can go to the main roster and show that to the world on a bigger platform than NXT. I love NXT to death. NXT is doing very well for itself. It’s going up in viewers, and it gets viewers every year, but the main roster is the bigger audience.”
