Danhausen Makes Surprise ROH Return at Final Battle 2024

Friday’s Final Battle 2024 event for Ring of Honor at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, New York featured Danhausen making his surprise return to ROH.

During the match between Atlantis Jr. and MxM Collection’s Mansoor, MxM Collection’s Mason Madden interefered several times leading to Atlantis Jr. sending Madden off the apron and crashing onto the floor. This led to an angry reaction from Madden as he looked on the crowd. As Madden was fuming over what happened to him, a mystery hand showed up from under the ring apron and a mystery masked person came out wearing a Danhausen mask. This person took off their mask revealing himself to be Danhausen to a roaring reaction from the crowd. Danhausen then proceeded to hit a nut punch to Madden laying him out and Atlantis Jr. tossing Mansoor out of the ring and followed it with a dive to teh outside on MxM Collection. Atlantis Jr. then tossed Mansoor back into the ring and hit a Frog Splash for the pinfall victory.

Following the match, Madden attacked Atlantis Jr. resulting in a brawl breaking out and Danhausen getting involved saving Atlantis Jr. in the end and the two standing tall and celebrating in the ring.

This was Danhausen’s first appearance in ROH since this past February and last appeared for AEW at the Worlds End 2023 in December of 2023.

Nigel McGuinness Revealed as Mystery Challenger for ROH Pure Championship Match

Friday’s ROH Final Battle 2024 event featured Nigel McGuinness making a surprise in-ring return and was revealed to be the mystery challenger for Lee Moriarty’s ROH Pure Championship Open Challenge match.

Prior to the start of the match, McGuinness grabbed a microphone and requested for this match to be held under old school ROH Pure rules. This led to McGuinness and Shane Taylor engaging in a foul mouthed filled insults banter that ended with Moriarty pushing Taylor away saying that he wants this match and accepted the new stipulation.

This was McGuinness’ first match since this past September’s AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2024 show and his first match in ROH since Glory By Honor VIII in September of 2009.

Komander Wins ROH TV Title at Final Battle 2024

Friday’s ROH Final Battle 2024 event also featured Komander defeating Willie Mack, Mark Davis, Blake Christian, AR Fox, and Brian Cage in a Survival of the Fittest match to become the new ROH World Television Champion.

The order of eliminations in this match were Fox being the first eliminated by Cage. Mack was the second to be eliminated by Cage. Then Cage was the third to be eliminated by Davis meaning a new champion was guaranteed. Davis was the fourth to be eliminated by Christian leading to Christaian being the final person eliminated by Komander.

This was Komander’s first ever ROH championship victory in his ROH career.

Bandido Makes Surprise ROH Return at Final Battle 2024

Friday’s ROH Final Battle 2024 event also featured Bandido making his surprise in-person return from injury to ROH.

Following Chris Jericho’s victory over Matt Cardona to retain the ROH World Championship. The Learning Tree’s Big Bill & Bryan Keith attacked Cardona leading to Bandido making his surprise return and ran out to save Cardona and cleared the ring of the Learning Tree. Bandido then went to check on Cardona as the Learning Tree made their way to the back.

This was Bandido’s first appearance in ROH since May of 2023 and his first wrestling appearance since June of 2023 due to a broken wrist injury and recovery complications.
