Tony Khan Comments on Not Caring What Eric Bischoff Says About AEW

A recent episode of The Ariel Helwani Show featured WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Bischoff stating that he believes there is no hope for AEW and nothing will help turn the company around.

“I used to get really frustrated with them, because I actually hate seeing people screw up good opportunities. I know what that feels like, and I know how hard good opportunities are to come by. So, when you see somebody just shooting themselves in the foot day after day, week after week, in every possible way, it’s frustrating for me and I would vent that frustration.

Now, it’s just like whatever. It is what it is. There’s no hope for them, nothing’s gonna turn that company around. There’s no light bulb gonna go off in anybody’s head and all of a sudden realize ‘ah, this is how we actually get people to watch TV.’ They have no idea what they’re doing, and they’re too stubborn to learn.”

103.5 The Fan’s K&C Masterpiece show featured AEW CEO Tony Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about Biscohff’s latest negative comments directed towards his company and him no longer caring what Bischoff has to ever say about AEW.

“I have no idea. I don’t really care what he says. We have done really really well and we have a great thing going with AEW and something to be really proud of. We’re not only, for years to come, be doing shows on TBS and TNT, but we’re going to set the record for the longest run of pro wrestling ever on TNT. It’s pretty amazing because for a company only five years old, we’ve accomplished so much. We set the world record for wrestling ticket sales and we’re just going into this new media rights deal that is historic and it hasn’t even kicked in yet. Starting January 1, every week, you can watch Dynamite, still on TBS, but we’re going to be livestreaming on Max, which is a top streaming platform and, I think, the best streaming platform. We’re going to have AEW every Wednesday night and every Saturday night on Max, in addition to TNT. It’s really important for us because cable is massive and massive for sports and wrestling. TNT and TBS are staples of cable, as Eric himself knows very well, but it’s really important for the future to also have a foothold in streaming, and that’s what we’re going to have now with AEW on Max. I think AEW is doing fantastic.”

Rey Fenix Comments on He Will Have His Chance to Speak Truth Over Contract Situation

As noted before, The Lucha Brothers’ Penta El Zero Miedo’s contract with AEW had been originally set to expire between this past August and September while Rey Fenix’s contract had been originally set to expire this past September. AEW recently added almost a full year’s worth of injury time to Fenix’s contract and currently have no plans to release him.

In response to a recent comment from a fan on Twitter, Fenix stated that he will have his chance to speak the truth about his status and contract situation in AEW.

This fan stated “AEW not using Rey Fenix is fuckin WRONG!😡 WWE sells out almost every arena they go to. They’re doing the best business they ever have. WTH does Tony Khan think will happen if the Lucha Bros go there? WWE isn’t being hurt by this AT ALL! The only one being affected is Fenix, and he’s the most innocent party in all of this.

Fenix respond stating “I will have my chance to speak the truth.
