Kofi Kingston Comments on “Everything We Said On Monday Was Completely Factual”

As noted before, this past Monday’s WWE RAW show in Everett, Washington was notable for Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods turning heel on Big E and kicking him out of their New Day group during the New Day 10 Year Anniversary celebration segment.

A recent episode of 102.5 The Game’s Chase & Big Joe Show featured Kingston as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Kingston’s defending what he and Woods said to Big E during New Day’s 10 Year Anniversary celebration.

“I am surprised that most of these people out here don’t really understand why we did what we did. We came out there, and you can always tell when you’re right when you make an argument and you say nothing but facts. Everything we said on Monday night was completely factual. We told the truth. You might not like to hear what it was, but people online and social media are cussing and cursing us and there are all these insults that have nothing to do with what we’re talking about. I know that when you can’t bring a rational argument to the table, that means you know that you’re wrong. If you don’t have any facts for the argument. Just because you’re upset doesn’t mean you’re right.”

In a separate recent interview with the In The Kliq podcast, Kingston gave his thoughts about New Day’s legacy as a group in wrestling.

“So we are the greatest tag team to ever do this. Sometimes you’re supposed to be humble and dance around it, but if you look at our accolades, man — we just had this shirt come out for the 10-year anniversary, it had all, not even all of our accolades, but we filled the back of the shirt with the accolades that we have achieved. All the members of the group and all that we have done and titles that we’ve won and crowns that we’ve won. It’s unmatched. Being able to host WrestleMania, being able to go toe-to-toe with The Rock on the mic, and hold our own. Not many people in the world can do that. Not many people can say that they’ve done that. I could go on and on. 12,13-time Tag Team Champions, that in and of itself. The longest-reigning Tag Team Champions at one point.

If I’m being honest, I don’t really care about what the fans remember about it, because I already know. I already know what we are, you know what I’m saying? So, yeah, you can’t argue with the facts, and when it’s all said and done, New Day is going to go down as the greatest tag team of all time. So for us right now, we’re just trying to add on to that legacy. We’re never full. We always stay hungry, and we keep on piling these accolades on until we decide that we don’t want to do it anymore. Which won’t be anytime soon.”

As noted before, Drew McIntyre made his surprise return to WWE at this past Monday’s WWE RAW show in Everett, Washington. During a recent media event for Netflix in Los Angeles, California, WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque gave his thoughts about McIntyre’s recent return from injury and family-related reasons. Levesque stated “As we create more and more stars, it sort of creates this opportunity for stars to be able to come in and out, because you’re not reliant on the same people every week to get you to where you need to get to, right? [McIntyre] was dying to come back. He wasn’t hurt, he wasn’t injured. ‘Let’s just give you a little breather here for a second.’ And whether that’s spending some time at home enjoying your family, whatever that is, or whether that’s, ‘Hey, I have this other project I want to work on. I have this project that Netflix has come up with, I’m going to work on that.’ Whatever. Us having that ability to morph and shift things around and keep things fresh, I think is a tremendous opportunity for us. So, I’d look for more of that too.” (Transcript h/t: SI.com)
