Kyle Fletcher vs. Kazuchika Okada Continental Classic Match Announced for Dec. 7th AEW Collision Show

AEW announced one new match for the card of this week’s AEW Collision show on Saturday, December 7th at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.

This new match announced was a Continental Classic 2024 Blue League match of Kyle Fletcher vs. Kazuchika Okada.

AEW Reportedly Working on Plans for The Renegade Twins to Join Mone Corporation

As noted before, last week’s AEW Dynamite show was notable for featuring Kamille splitting and ending her partnership with current TBS Champion Mercedes Mone

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that his sources stated that AEW officials recently held talks regarding potential plans of The Renegade Twins, Roby & Charlette Renegade, joining forces with Mone for her Mone Corporation stable.

Sapp reported that AEW’s plans for their new pairing is not set in stone at the time of his report but this is something that is currently expected to happen at some point.

AEW News & Notes

AEW held two dark matches prior to the start of Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Fishers, Indiana. The first was Satnam Singh defeating Colt Cabana. The second was The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum) defeating Aaron Solo & Rosario Grillo in a tag team match.

Jim Ross revealed on Twitter that he recently recorded a voiceover for the cold open for NFL’s Thursday Night Football game of Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that the AEW Triple Crown Championship will not be up for grabs for this year’s Continental Classic tournament. Sapp reported that Eddie Kingston holding the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship at the time last year was a big deciding factor on AEW officials choosing him to win their inaugural tournament last year. Sapp also reported that due to AEW officials can’t change who holds the NJPW Strong Openweight title at their leisure, last year’s Triple Crown title was more of a special one-time novelty concept in the end.

In a recent interview with Barstool’s Rasslin’ podcast, Ricochet gave his thoughts on the current widespread usage of spray tans in wrestling. Ricohet stated “Oh man. It’s all over. It’s indies, it’s WWE, it’s AEW, it’s everywhere. Apparently people can’t put the spray tan on the night before and then wash, they have to put it on right before their match. You just go into the locker room, the showers in the locker room, if you just look at the floor, it’s like spray tan city. In a recent interview with The Danny Ocean Show podcast, Adam Cole gave his thoughts about his main goal for his career in AEW. Cole stated “Absolutely winning the AEW World Championship, without question. If my career in AEW doesn’t involve me becoming the AEW World Champion at some point, I will feel disappointed. It’s been a goal of mine in every promotion I’ve ever worked for, whether it’s Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, NXT, you name it. The goal obviously is to be the guy and to have the company put everything behind you, and you carry the flag. So again it was my mission when I first joined AEW, and it will continue to be my mission. In a recent interview with the Battleground Podcast, AEW CEO Tony Khan gave his thoughts about his interest in potentially doing a “Timecop” match in AEW. Khan stated “I would love to do that. That’s definitely in our future. We’ve definitely revitalized the popularity of a classic film. Timecop is not just a cult classic, it’s also the biggest commercial success of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s career. The only $100 million movie Jean-Claude Van Damme ever did, and for good reason. It’s an excellent film and it applies sometimes to the world of wrestling when most of the shows are live, but sometimes you tape them, and you’re in two places at once.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

In a recent interview with 93.5’s Zack Johnson, Kyle Fletcher gave his thoughts about his match against Will Ospreay at AEW’s Full Gear 2024 being the match where he felt the first time in being total confident in himself for his singles run in AEW. Fletcher stated “I think this is gonna sound pretty crazy, but I don’t think it really dawned on me maybe until Full Gear, when I wrestled Ospreay. It’s been a long process, and I think I have been learning along the way. Every time I would hit a milestone or I’d have a big match or one of these things, I’d get a little bit closer, and I’d get a little bit closer, and I’d build a little bit more confidence. But I think Full Gear is probably the first time where I felt 100% totally and truly confident in myself. I was in the ring, and I think the best part about watching wrestling is you can feel when the wrestler is feeling, and in that moment, I felt 100% truly confident in that moment, and I felt it. It felt real to me. I think that was probably the first time that I have ever felt like that, that true confidence, that true not a stumble in my step, I felt fully in my stride, and I felt like I really hit that.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

In a recent interview with The Ringer’s Masked Man Show podcast, Lee Moriarty gave his thoughts about Bryan Danielson taught him how to be more aggressive with his technical style of wrestling following their match together on the February 16, 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite show. Moriarty stated “It taught me how to be more aggressive with a technical style because as amazing of a technical wrestler he is, he’s an extremely aggressive wrestler. You see that in his matches with RUSH, with Moxley, people like that. So it helped me in that aspect of finding that next gear when it comes to being more mean instead of wrestling so pretty. It just taught me to, like i was saying, just be more loose with the game plan because things are gonna change. There’s things that he did that I didn’t plan on because if you watch three Bryan Danielson matches in AEW this past year, there’s not really a pattern like you were talking about. He adapts his style to his opponents whether he’s wrestling MJF, Hechicero, or Moxley. He’s gonna change it so you can’t always plan.
