— WWE (@WWE) December 3, 2024
Kofi Kingston arrived by himself at the arena. Xavier Woods is also shown walking in later. We’ll celebrate 10 years of the New Day tonight, but they don’t appear to be on the same page.
CM Punk, who returned to action in the Men’s WarGames Match over the weekend, is also in the building. Punk bumps into “Main Event” Jey Uso and Sami Zayn. Uso is excited to see him. Zayn is cautious, but he ultimately shakes Punk’s hand. The camera follows Punk through the tunnel, through Gorilla Position, and onto the stage.

Did Rollins create the "MONSTER" that is Roman Reigns? 🤔#WWERaw pic.twitter.com/DLLfqjNlug

CM Punk makes his entrance to a huge ovation. Punk hasn’t been seen on Raw since after the WWE Bad Blood event when he defeated Drew McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell. The clip of Roman Reigns blocking Punk from entering the WarGames match was the most viewed Instagram clip on WWE’s account of the year.
Punk asks, “Is it good to be alive on a Monday night in Everett, Washington, or what?” We are sold out tonight in Everett. The last time they saw him, he stood on the ramp fresh off a possible career-ending match inside Hell in a Cell and told them he wasn’t sure what the future held for CM Punk. Now he’s live and in living color, fresh off a potentially career-ending WarGames match, but he knows exactly where he’s going. He’s much less beat up today than he was after Hell in a Cell. Punk put his personal things aside and handled his business with Drew McIntyre. Then he came back to take care of some personal business for his friend, Paul Heyman.
An “ECW” chant fires up. Punk says he knows what the future holds. Punk stands on the second turnbuckle and points to an empty spot on the ceiling. Punk asks if they can see it. Punk has seen it. For his whole career, people told him he wouldn’t be there. There may not be a sign in Everett, Washington, but Punk sees it. Punk knows what his future holds. There are multiple roads to take to get there. There are multiple ways to finish your story. The Royal Rumble is right around the corner. Maybe he takes that road. Then there is the Elimination Chamber. Perhaps that’s the fork in the road he chooses. If any road winds up as a dead end, he has a favor or two in his pocket to call upon to get there.
“BURN IT DOWN!”
Seth “Freakin” Rollins slowly makes his way to the ring. Rollins gets in the ring and takes off his sunglasses. The crowd is buzzing in anticipation and singing Rollins’s song. Rollins sneers at Punk before letting out a smirk. Punk is waiting to hear what Rollins has to say. A “CM Punk” chant then kicks up. Rollins slowly lifts the microphone and says he’s been thinking a lot… Rollins really should have knocked Punk’s ass out the same day he came back to WWE. Rollins says he regrets that every day for the past year. Over that year, a lot has gotten in the way. Punk got hurt, and Rollins had titles to defend. Rollins had a Bloodline to take down. The last time he saw Punk, he was this close to taking his shot, but he had pity for him. Punk had just come out of Hell in a Cell against Drew McIntyre, and Rollins had pity for him. That was Rollins’s mistake. After Saturday, seeing Punk standing there triumphant next to Roman Reigns, it was clear to Rollins that he needed to rectify his mistakes.
Rollins takes off his jacket. Rollins says, “As we stand here right now, there is nothing in my way, nothing in your way, no one holding us back. The only things between us are air and hatred, and I’ve got a feeling in my gut that tonight is the night I knock CM Punk on his ass!”
Punk looks unimpressed and lets out a tired sigh. Punk says, “You talk too much and you don’t listen enough.” Punk says he just came out here and said he put all the personal stuff aside. HE is long past running races against people he didn’t even know he was running. Six months ago, Rollins was a champion and had something he wanted. Now, Rollins has nothing. Punk knows where he’s going and what’s in his future. Punk says, “And kid, you ain’t it. You’ve been thinking about me for six months? I don’t think about you at all.” Punk says he’s got things to do in this business. Punk steps up to Rollins and warns him to stay out of his business.
Rollins thinks about it and looks down at the mat, trying to control his anger. Rollins says Punk talks too much and doesn’t listen enough. Rollins says, “This is my business.” Rollins shoves Punk down! Punk is shocked and pops up. Rollins and Punk begin brawling! Jey Uso and Sami Zayn quickly run down and separate them. The crowd chants, “Let them fight!” Punk, who has a scratch on the bridge of his nose, leaves the ring. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce comes down with some WWE officials. Rollins asks if he is Punk’s business now. Punk runs back to the ring, but Rollins stomps him. The WWE officials pull him away.
Uso pushes Punk up the ramp. Rollins tells Uso to run back to Roman Reigns. Zayn says he knows Rollins is angry, but he can’t talk to Jey Uso that way. Rollins says he gets why Uso went back to Reigns because he’s family. What is Zayn’s excuse? Zayn isn’t family. A “Sami Uso” chant picks up. Rollins says he loves Sami Uso, but if he’s family with Reigns, then he’s got to be family with Rollins. Rollins is closer to Zayn than Uso and Reigns have ever been. They came into this business together. Zayn stabbed him in the back when he teamed with CM Punk. Zayn says he didn’t ask to team with CM Punk. Zayn didn’t want to have Punk as a tag team partner. Punk was willing to help, and Zayn took it. Zayn didn’t want Punk. He wanted Rollins. Zayn asked Rollins twice, and he said no both times. They wouldn’t have had to team with Punk if Rollins did in the first place, but he wouldn’t because Rollins is too damn stubborn.
Rollins asks if he’s losing his mind. Maybe Zayn can remind him what he wanted Rollins to team with him to do. It was to help Roman Reigns, help that monster regain his power. Zayn says Rollins created that monster. Rollins is shocked. Zayn says Rollins created that monster when he put a chair in his back ten years ago. Zayn tells him not to act like his hands are clean in this. Rollins understands his sins. The chair to the back was the motivation for the Tribal Chief. Rollins has apologized and atoned for that. If Zayn is going to point fingers at him for putting a chair in Reigns’ back, Zayn needs to look in the mirror because he did the same thing. Rollins doesn’t blame Zayn for it. Reigns was the scum of the earth and treated everyone badly. They all sacrificed a lot to take down the Bloodline. Rollins tells Zayn to get it through his head. Reigns has not changed. Has he apologized or shown a shred of remorse? That snake CM Punk hasn’t changed. Stubbornness isn’t the issue. Zayn’s naivete is the issue. Zayn is gullible. Rollins says Zayn is being stupid.
Zayn says he can tell Rollins is angry. If he wants to blow off some steam, Zayn will meet him in the ring tonight. If that’s how Rollins wants it, Zayn will meet him in the ring. Rollins says, “If that’s how you want it, fine by me.” Rollins walks off.
Video: Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Judgement Day

World Tag Team Champions Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh are talking with Carlito about what he did to Damian Priest. Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, who is arm in arm with “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, says she thought they agreed he would stay away from Priest. Bálor says he was, but Dom didn’t handle the issue. Bálor handled it himself. Instead of walking around with the World Heavyweight Title, Priest is walking around with his arm in a sling. Maybe if Morgan listened to him, she’d have won at WarGames. Now, she has to worry about defending her title against IYO SKY at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Bálor says Morgan has a lot to focus on. Morgan says they should have focused on Damage CTRL, so they’ll do that tonight. She just hopes Bálor knows what he’s doing. Bálor says he does. If the Judgment Day listens to Finn, they’ll win. Bálor walks off. Raquel Rodriguez wonders what he meant by that.

Will we see DOM vs. GUNTHER tonight on #WWERaw? pic.twitter.com/iWZYckRxk6
Cathy Kelley is backstage with World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, but World Tag Team Champion Finn Bálor walks up to him. Bálor wants a title shot. For the second time, Gunther has defeated Damian Priest. For the second time, Bálor helped him. Gunther should shake his hand and give him a title match. Gunther says he doesn’t owe Bálor anything. He never asked for or needed his help. Gunther had a terrible time heading into Survivor Series. Gunther needed to win this on his own, and Bálor took it away from him. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio alongside Bálor. Bálor asks if Gunther doesn’t want to face him. Gunther knows why Mysterio feels confident. Mysterio scored a victory over Damian Priest. For that, Mysterio deserves something. Gunther is feeling good and has leverage. We're celebrating 1️⃣0️⃣ YEARS of THE NEW DAY tonight on #WWERaw pic.twitter.com/DJLvyOyzRK
Video: A career retrospective on 10 years of The New Day.
In-Ring: Adam Pearce, New Day
It's over.
— WWE (@WWE) December 3, 2024
Big E is OUT.
What is wrong with these two? #WWERaw pic.twitter.com/3NCsHjq2ja
Raw General Manager Adam Pearce is in the ring. It is decorated with New Day-themed balloons. There are mementos from their amazing career. Pearce says we are here to celebrate 10 years of The New Day.
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are introduced. More New Day mementos are on the stage, including WrestleMania outfits and the giant box of Booty O’s from WrestleMania 33. Kingston and Woods get in the ring. Kingston throws some pancakes into the crowd. Pearce congratulates them on this moment. On behalf of the WWE Universe, they want to let them know how much the New Day rocks. A “New Day rocks” chant picks up.
Woods and Kingston look moved by the reception. Woods greets the crowd. Woods says being part of the WWE and being successful in WWE for ten years… getting to this point is so much more than they could have dreamed when they started this. Woods thanks the fans. Kingston says it’s been one hell of a ride. Never in his wildest dreams could he have imagined they’d have achieved so many accomplishments and accolades and had so much fun while doing it. They couldn’t have done it all without each other, but you know WHO else they couldn’t have done it without? The fans.
A “Big E” chant picks up. Woods says they miss him, too. Woods says that, with all that said, they wanted to come out here with the people and let them know that what they’re about to tell them is not their fault. The crowd gasps. Woods says they have nothing but love for each and every one of the fans. Kingston says he and Woods have talked. In light of what went down between them last week, they both feel that when it comes to the New Day going forward…
“Y’all wanna go big?”
Big E makes his way to the ring to a HUGE ovation! We haven’t seen Big E on Raw or SmackDown in almost four years. Big E suffered what appears to be a career-ending neck fracture in a Tag Team Match against Ridge Holland and Butch after a botched suplex on the floor from Holland.
Kingston and Woods look thrilled to see him. Big E gets in the ring, and the crowd is buzzing. Big E thanks the crowd but wishes he was here under different circumstances. To see the two of them argue, bicker, and say some of the most hurtful things that you can imagine to each other troubled his soul something deep. When they started this ten years ago, they were all they had. They only had each other. Ten years ago, Kingston was mulling over retirement because his passion was beaten out of him. Ten years ago, he and Woods were close to getting fired. On one of the worst days of his life and the scariest moment of his career, they were at his hospital bedside for hours to make sure he was good. Big E was in a neckbrace when Kingston’s daughter was born. Kingston and his wife were in his home, and Big E held her for the first time. When Woods won King of the Ring, Big E was the first one to greet him as he spilled tears on his shoulder. What they built means something to a lot of people. It means a hell of a lot to Big E. Big E says, “So until I am medically cleared to return to this ring, I am going to remind the two of you exactly who you are. I’m gonna be here to cheer for you, to root for you, to uplift you. I’m gonna be here every single week to serve as your manager.”
An “E” chant fires up. Woods and Kingston look confused. A “New Day rocks” chant fires up. Woods asks, “Now? Now you wanna come back?” With all that is left after the arguing is to jump, now he comes back? Woods says, “E, you left us.” Big E says he broke his neck. Kingston says, “You left us, E. Yeah, you broke your neck. So what? ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin broke his neck, and he came back. Kurt Angle broke his neck, and he came back. Edge broke his neck, and he came back.” Woods says they didn’t even have people waiting for him to get back. Big E had two people waiting for him. They didn’t evolve at their own deficit for Big E. Kingston says that as big and strong as Big E is, without having surgery on his neck, he couldn’t have come back here a long time ago if he wanted to. Big E says he’s been meeting with doctors and having scans. Woods says he tore his Achilles Tendon off the bone and had to have surgery. Woods was back in nine months for Big E.
Kingston says if Big E truly cared about them, he’d have been back here a long time ago. Big E would’ve been by their side, clapping and cheering for them. Big E chose his new life, his new projects, his new girlfriend, and his new desk job over them. Woods asks if Big E even realizes the burden he’s become. No matter where they go, the people all say the same thing: they miss Big E as if they don’t miss him, too. It’s obvious that Big E doesn’t miss them. Kingston says their philosophy has been about the New Day before anything else. “We” before “me.” Big E, broken neck or not, chose himself over them. Big E is devastated. Woods says it’s time to tell the truth. Big E is never going to be medically cleared. Since that’s the case, he needs to get the hell out of this ring and get back to his desk where he belongs! Woods says they’ll call him if they need him.
Big E says he won’t let them throw this away after a decade. Big E wants a hug, but Kingston puts a hand on his chest to hold him back. Big E cannot believe this. Woods turns his head on him. Big E cannot believe it’s over like this. Big E is overcome with emotion and leaves the ring.
Kingston looks at Woods. Woods says, “Now it’s just me and you.” Kingston says, “It’s just us, bro.” They shake hands, and the crowd boos them.
