Rey Fenix Comments on His AEW Contract Status Being “Many Things Are Not Known And Should Not Be Talked About”

As noted before, The Lucha Brothers’ Penta El Zero Miedo’s contract with AEW had been originally set to expire between this past August and September while Rey Fenix’s contract had been originally set to expire this past September. AEW recently added almost a full year’s worth of injury time to Fenix’s contract and currently have no plans to release him.

Fenix recently provided an update on Instagram stating that there are many things that are not known and should not be talked about by others online in regards to his current contract situation. Fenix also stated that many who are speaking out about his contract are not displaying respect and forgetting everything that wrestling has given them.

“There are many things that are not known, but that also should not be talked about. We must wait. Professionalism first and foremost, folks. We must not be the same as all those podcasts that go around spitting out what should not be spit out. Never diminish our work. There are things that should always be respected, and many are forgetting everything that wrestling has given them.”

AEW Full Gear 2024 Attendance & PPV Buys Update

AEW reportedly drew an attendance of 10,639 for their Full Gear 2024 event on November 23rd at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

In regards to pay-per-view buys, Dave Meltzer reported that Full Gear 2024’s cable television buys are currently up 4.1% compared to this past October’s WrestleDream 2024 event buys based on the same number of days after the event.

Meltzer reported that due to this past week’s Thanksgiving holiday, total numbers and estimates are currently not known due to the slower week than usual for releases. Another reason reportedly is due to Blechaer Report no longer carrying AEW PPVs and had been an easy source for streaming numbers previously.
