Paul Heyman Comments on His Belief The Bloodline Storyline is Wrestling’s Greatest Storyline
SHAK Wrestling held a recent interview with Paul Heyman. One of the topics discussed included Heyman’s thoughts about his belief that The Bloodline storyline in WWE is the greatest storyline of all-time in pro wrestling history.
“The money-drawing years of The Horsemen werenât this long, the money-drawing years of the NWO wasnât the long, the money-drawing years of Austin vs. McMahon wasnât this long. Hogan vs. Savage, Hogan vs. Piper, which put Wrestlemania 1 on the map. So, just in terms of overall storytelling and constant web and flow of affecting other peopleâs environment on the roster and how they tell their stories, I suggest itâs the most significant. Itâs the biggest money-drawing, it has the most longevity, it has held the most interest, and overall it has done so by being the most intriguing and compelling because at every turn you see the characters not just turn towards what the story calls for, but the long-term effects of the development of these characters and the evolution of these characters is never lost on us. So if something happens that changes Roman Reigns in 2022, we donât disavow knowledge of it in 2024. It plays into whatâs happening in 2024. Because of that, and because we keep it consistent, I would have to rank it #1. All false humility aside.”

As noted before, indies wrestler Ricky Smokes recently signed a WWE ID contract with WWE. In a recent interview with PWPonderings, Smokes gave his thoughts about his recently signing with WWE’s WWE ID program. Smokes stated “Itâs the biggest moment of my career to date. It was overwhelming being around a crowd of people who boo me every time I show my face there, to acknowledge how much that moment means to me and applaud me and chant I deserve it. It was very emotional. I knew they loved me. Them being able to see my true emotions without me having to put a guard up meant a lot. It was nice to get IDâd there specifically, it couldnât be anywhere else. For Chase to be out there too, couldnât replicate it. I had my family there as well. It was raw and real the moment I saw Chase there. It meant a lot that he was the one to present it to me since I stepped into the New England Pro Wrestling Academy. It was a very real and meaningful moment.“
In a recent interview with Inside The Ropes Magazine, Liv Morgan gave her thoughts about Becky Lynch and her belief that Lynch has already had a WWE Hall of Fame worthy career. Morgan stated “I think if Becky never comes back, I definitely think she is 100% a Hall of Famer. She has become a martyr for womenâs wrestling and performance all around. She can do it all. She can deliver in the ring, she can deliver on the microphone. The crowd is compelled by her when sheâs out there, not to mention what she stands for in womenâs wrestling. Her goal, I think, was to really evolve it and maximize womenâs wrestling and really make womenâs wrestling feel just as special and important as the menâs wrestling, and she did it all while being a fantastic brand-new mummy. But with all that, sheâs still not as great as me (laughs).“
In a recent interview with the Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg podcast, CM Punk gave his thoughts about who would be his choices for matches he would be the most interested from WWE’s current roster. Punk stated “Iâm still reconciling with the schedule and the fact that Iâm not 30 years old. When you ask, âWho do you want to get in the ring with?â The list is pretty lengthy. Chad Gable is at the top of the list. Bronson Reed as at the top of the list. (Ludwig) Kaiser is somebody I see a lot in and would be fun. Gunther. Iâm selfishly talking about guys I would love to wrestle on house shows. Then you talk about the money stuff. The marquee stuff. What is a match you can see main eventing a pay-per-view. Thatâs what gets my juices flowing. Whenever myself and Roman Reigns are face to face on television, thatâs going to be a moment. The table is set for myself and Cody (Rhodes). You never know when The Rock is going to come back. There is big match John (Cena) coming right around the corner. Another guy that I donât want to talk about because heâs going to do his own thing. If Iâm part of that, what a fortunate career Iâve had. John deserves everything that he wants. He calls his own shot, but I would love to get hands on him too.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
