AEW Reportedly Expected to Add New Women’s Match to Card for AEW Full Gear 2024
AEW’s current card for their Full Gear 2024 event this Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey is notable for only featuring one women’s match out of the ten matches currently announced.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that AEW officials currently have plans to add at least one more match for the card for their Full Gear 2024 event.
This match reportedly is expected to be a women’s match and likely will involve Deonna Purrazzo due to her being a hometown talent of the area.
Jon Moxley Comments on “I Found It Challenging To Find Anyone Willing To Take Responsibility In Previous AEW Iteration”
CBS Sports held a recent interview with Jon Moxley. One of the topics discussed included Moxley’s thoughts about his current vision for AEW and his reasons for wanting to “takeover” the company with his Death Riders group.
“I spent about two months just thinking and reading books and walking around downtown Cincinnati at 3 in the morning, thinking, as I am one to do. I had a vision. A vision of a future. A vision that could be ours. That it could belong to everybody. A vision of a world where everyone can be successful. A vision of a world where everyone’s strengths are brought to the forefront. A vision of a world that is inhospitable for bullshit. One thing I found challenging in the previous iteration of AEW was, I found it challenging to find anyone who would take responsibility for anything. ‘It’s not my fault’ was a thing that would be heard bouncing around the hallways of AEW quite ubiquitously. Essentially, what it boils down to is, I’ll take responsibility for everything. For every single thing. I’ll make it my responsibility. You can blame me. If we run out of hot dogs tonight, if the vendor runs out of hot dogs in Rhode Island, I’ll make it my responsibility, blame me. I’ll go to Costco, get 30 boxes of hot dogs and I’ll drive them to the building. I’ll make sure we have enough for next time. I’ll have my wife bake cookies for three days straight I’ll drive them to the building myself. Whatever I have to do. There is stuff that it can’t not get done. It can’t not get confronted. I’ll do it myself. I can rely on the person to the right and left of me. That’s my group and circle and that’s what we’re doing. That circle will grow. None of this stuff happens overnight. There’s no press a button and it looks entirely different on the surface.”
Moxley also gave his thoughts about his recent personal transformation in AEW.
“I feel I’ve gone through a bit of a personal transformation recently. Things are clear in my head and slowly, over time, evolving into the person I think I’m meant to be. I think this is exactly where I’m supposed to be and it was always like this. Right here, at this exact time and place, is exactly where I’m supposed to be. I’m very optimistic about everything. Moving forward, it might sound like I’m young and screaming and trying to destroy things and I’m some sort of dissident, but nothing could be further from the truth. I’m a realist who is always searching for the truth of the situation. There are people who get upset when you lie to them and there are people who get upset when you tell them the truth. I’m very much the former. In a lot of ways, I can see the whole board. If the board falls, we will make the necessary adjustments. It’s very exciting. I’m in a very exciting place right now. The cool thing for me is, I don’t give single fuck. I have not one single fuck to give. That is the attitude that I’m moving forward with and that is the attitude my group has. Everything I’m trying to achieve right now, this is very much the hill I will die on. I have no intention of dying on this hill, but it’s the hill I’m prepared to die on. It’s a very exciting feeling to have.”

Indie wrestler “2 Smooth” Shawn Smith recently revealed on Twitter that he was the identity of the mystery person on Dynamite.
Former WWE wrestler Gene Snitsky revealed on Instagram that he had attended this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Reading. Snitsky stated “THANKS @aew @tonyrkhan @chrisjerichofozzy @sheltyb803 @princekingnana for the gracious welcome this evening! ITS NOT MY FAULT You guys rock!!!!!“
This past Wednesday’s 2024 CMA Awards event in Nashville, Tennessee featured Paul Wight making a surprise appearance and portraying his Captain Insano character from 1998 film The Water Boy.
In a recent interview with Undisputed, Ricochet gave his thoughts about his goal of wanting to become the AEW World Champion to prove that he can carry a company. Ricochet stated “I’m going to show everyone that I’m the man,” he said. “I’m going to prove I can carry a company. It’s time to show everyone why I’m here. I was talking with my wife about this, and I said there was this one hurdle in my career I need to jump, and that is being the top dog,” he continued. “Becoming the best, that’s not why I started wrestling. I was a 14-year-old kid, and wrestling kept me off the streets. It was fun, it allowed me to travel, and I fell in love with it. That was always my goal, but it’s different now. I believe I’m one of the best, and I’m going to show it here. So much is possible. It’s a new beginning. There is no guarantee it will work. But for the past 21 years, it’s worked out pretty well everywhere I’ve worked. This is my chance to get to the next level.“
In a recent interview with WGN Radio, AEW CEO Tony Khan stated that he had purchased the rights to “November Rain” by Guns N’Roses for perpetuity for AEW. Khan stated “November Rain has been used in November wrestling pay-per-views decades ago, but never licensed Guns N’ Roses, never fairly compensated, and they were great to work with. So we work with a lot of the top musicians and licensing and publishing companies to get the top music in AEW, and then like you said, moments in wrestling are so important. You’re so right, and we’ve been able to create a lot of magic moments, in part because of the great music that we’ve been fortunate to license.” Khan also gave his thoughts about how important it was for him to be able to license the song properly and not the illegal way ECW used the song for their shows. Khan stated “Well, to be honest, it has been done. ECW did use ‘November Rain’ as a promotional vehicle. Illegally, without the permission of the artist, but in this case, we’re on TBS and TNT, we gotta do things by the book, and it’s also the right thing to do. Guns N’ Roses is a great band. They are great to work with if you actually call them and try to work something fair out with them. They were awesome and I was really so pleased we were able to do it. Again, talk about one of those things that will live on and in perpetuity, that video will be able to play. It’s not the first time November Rain has been played in association with a wrestling show to promote a major wrestling event in the month of November, but it was the first time we’ve done it in AEW, and it was the first time it’s ever been done by anyone above board, legally, and the right way. I’m really proud of it. It was a great video and it really sets the stage.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
During the same interview, Tony Khan also gave his thoughts about dealing with online criticisms from fans and critics and the difference in listening to constructive criticism and ignoring bad faith criticism. Khan stated “Well, it depends on what it is. I think a lot of it is constructive. Sometimes fans have a good perspective, and a lot of times it’s really worth listening to the feedback. Sometimes, if it’s disingenuous, there’s nothing you can do. There’s just not, like you said, not constructive. But I do think it’s always worth hearing the fans out and hearing viewpoints. Sometimes it’s fans of a different promotion that don’t really have anything positive to say, no matter what you do, and that’s fine. We sold 81,035 tickets at Wembley Stadium, and there were people trying to tear it down. People were saying, ‘Oh, they only got 73,000,’ as if that’s bad. That’s more people than were at the Mike Tyson/Jake Paul fight, and people were trying to say that, like, it was a bad number for AEW, it’s insane sometimes. So, you do have to be willing to take it all with a grain of salt because we’ve accomplished a lot with AEW, and we still have so much more to do. Really, it, in many ways, began here in Chicago. So, it’s very fitting that we keep coming back here to this great city.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Private Party’s Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy gave their thoughts about working with The Young Bucks in AEW. Quen stated “I would say, to try to compare, you ever have that cool mom or that friend who has a cool mom, and you’re like, damn, they’re so cool? That’s what it’s like, from my perspective. These guys are our bosses, but they’re so cool, they’re so chill. They’re just so laid back. They’re great. I can’t give the Young Bucks as many flowers as I wish I can, but eventually the world is gonna give it to them.” Kassidy responded stating “The Young Bucks changed our lives. I will forever be in debt to them because of how much we owe them. The Young Bucks don’t get the credit that they deserve. If you really think about it, AEW would not be here without the Young Bucks. The Young Bucks literally changed hundreds of people’s lives. They made everybody’s lives better by providing them a job, providing them safety. You got really think about what the Young Bucks did to impact this business, and when I really think about it, I could be wrong, but I don’t know if there’s any other wrestlers that impacted the way we look at professional wrestling today. The Young Bucks provided multiple jobs, and like I said, it’s not only the Young Bucks, but it started with the Young Bucks and their YouTube channel. They changed my life, and not only that, they always went to bat for us, they always looked out for us, and the Young Bucks do not get the flowers that they deserve. People need to start really giving them their flowers because they’re gonna realize it when it’s too late. One thing I always made sure, whenever I saw the Young Bucks, I always made sure, I told them, ‘Thank you.’ We had a moment at All In, and I’m taking it all in, and I’m looking at the stadium, and I’m like, man, this is crazy, and when you think about it, it started with y’all. I was talking to Nick, I think it was Nick, he was like, ‘I probably won’t really realize this until I retire.’ They’re just super humble guys, and I’m grateful to have them in my life, and hopefully they get their flowers sooner than later because they deserve all of it and then some. Just super amazing guys, and I wish the best for them.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
