More on WWE Holding Their November 6th NXT Show at the 2033 Arena
The November 6th WWE NXT show was notable for taking place at the 2033 Arena, former ECW Arena, and for being an ECW-themed show.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources have yet to confirm who was the person within WWE who came up with the idea to run an ECW themed show for their NXT brand and have it take place at the 2300 Arena.
Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that WWE officials had been working on plans for an ECW themed show for NXT for some time and this show was originally not specifically earmarked for November 6th. WWE officials reportedly made the decision to hold their ECW themed show for that night when they realized they would be going head-to-head against AEW that week due to them being preempted on The CW that week over the network’s coverage of the 2024 Presidential Election.
Meltzer reported that WWE officials have held recent talks regarding the idea of holding an annual show at the 2300 Arena for their NXT brand following the positive reception and success of their ECW themed show.
