Jake Hager Confirms His AEW Contract Expired This Past June

As noted before, Jake Hager’s contract with AEW was believed to have expired this past May.

A recent episode of the Stories with Briscoe and Bradshaw podcast featured Hager as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Hager confirming that his contract with AEW had expired this past June and gave his thoughts about the future of his wrestling career.

“It’s interesting. I’m excited to find out (what’s next for me). My contract expired with AEW in June, so I just left them. I’m currently working independents but, I’m 42 and I think it’s time to — I don’t know. I wanna find a way to be home more with my kids and so I’m looking into more business opportunities; construction, rental properties and I’d love to sit down with you John (Bradshaw Layfield) and get some pointers about announcing and maybe stay on camera that way. But really, just doing what I can. I had a great career, very blessed to have that career so, now, it’s kind of easier. The pressure’s off and just try to be a good dad and good example for my kids.”

Kris Statlander Comments on Reason for Her Partnership Split from Stokely Hathaway

Ring The Belle held a recent interview with Kris Statlander. One of the topics discussed included Statlander’s thoughts about the reason for her partnership with Stokely Hathaway ending in AEW.

“I mean, well, for the most part, the billing statement was kind of the big, that’s mostly what happened. We had a common goal in destroying Willow and I think we accomplished that. I think we just didn’t have any sort of, we didn’t have any goals after that. The goal was to take care of her. After that, I think we just kind of decided, you know what, the job is done. It’s kind of like a handshake, you helped me, I helped you, we’ll see if our paths cross again in the future or something. Then, he tried to pass a Spanish quiz and put my [CMLL] title shot on the line that I rightfully won. He put that on the line without me knowing, lost it. So, not my fault.”

MVP Comments on Newest Chapter of His Wrestling Career in AEW & Career Future

Drop The Heat held a recent interview with MVP. One of the topics discussed included MVP’s thoughts about the newest chapter of his wrestling career in AEW and the future of his career with Hurt Syndicate.

“Well the next chapter currently is AEW. Got the boys back together, the Hurt Syndicate. I want to end that chapter the way it should have been ended, so we got plans to do some really good business in AEW. Then, I got a few matches left in me, I’d like to have one, we’ll, a few matches before I hang it up for good because I’m not officially retired yetc so I want to have my final retirement match. After that, we’ll see man. I’m enjoying this role as a manager, a mouthpiece, doing commissioner work. If somebody wants to keep paying me to come around and put a microphone to my mouth, I’ll do it for as long as they want me to do it. Otherwise, as far as wrestling, that chapter is coming to a close pretty soon. Right now, I just want to have a good time making money with my friends.”
