Wade Barrett Comments on Potential for In-Ring Return in the Future
PWMania held a recent interview with WWE RAW brand commentator Wade Barrett. One of the topics discussed included Barrett’s thoughts about the potential of him making an in-ring return in the future.
“If the opportunity arises, obviously it’s something I would consider and think about and think, ‘Could I deliver something here’ but similarly, I’m absolutely thrilled with my role on commentary. It’s not something I’m looking to step away from. I don’t have some itch to scratch like a lot of the older guys have when they talk about comebacks. I’m really, really satisfied with what I’m doing right now. I love contributing in any way I can on the desk. But like I say, if the magic is there and it happens and it’s the perfect storm, maybe those tights will be pulled out of storage, have to make sure the moths haven’t eaten them or I may have to pay for a new pair, we’ll see. There’s always a tiny, tiny chance, but don’t hold your breath.”
Barrett also gave his thoughts about Drew McIntyre being his choice for a potential in-ring return opponent.
“He’s someone I go way back with and [have been] very close with the guy over the years. He did talk a little smack to me a few weeks ago on Raw and I haven’t forgotten about that.”
Update on WWE’s Plans for New Day 10-Year Anniversary WWE RAW Special

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that WWE officials had filmed a ton of content involving New Day’s Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E at their headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut several weeks ago.
Johnson reported that this content included all three members of New Day tossing ice cream to WWE staffers assembled at different areas of WWE’s headquarters main area.
WWE News & Notes
As noted before, Jacob Fatu was involved in an incident in April of 2023 revolving around him no showing a booking for a charity event held by Jake’s Network of Hope and keeping the money after ghosting the organization. The charity issued an update on Tuesday stating that they had resolved the issue and Fatu had paid them back in full this past June after initially stating this past Monday that he still owned them money. Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that those spoken to within Jake’s Network of Hope confirmed that Fatu had actually paid back in full to their charity this past June but this payment was something they had missed seeing it.
WWE recently released an ECW-inspired opening video that will air on Wednesday’s episode of NXT from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The first new video was a tag team match of CM Punk & Daniel Bryan vs. The Wyatt Family (Erick Rowan & Luke Harper) from WWE Survivor Series 2013. The second new video was a “Batista DEMOLISHES in Raw debut” from the November 4, 2002 episode of WWE RAW. The third new video was a WWF Hardcore Championship match of Steve Blackman vs. Shane McMahon (c). The fourth new video was a WarGames match of The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal), The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane), & Steve Williams vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes, Jimmy Garvin & Terry Gordy) & The Samoan SWAT Team (Samu & Fatu) from NWA WCW Great American Bash 1989.

Cargill & Belair had gotten into a confrontation with Morgan earlier in the show that turned physical. In a recent episode of the Kliq This podcast, WWE Hall of Famer and co-host Kevin Nash revealed that he will be making an appearance for WWE’s NXT brand this December. Nash stated “I think I’m going in December. I think like December…” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
Ivy Nile announced on Instagram that she was featured in a recent issue of the HERS Magazine. Nile stated “As everyone knows, fitness is a huge part of my life and honestly my passion. Not just for the physical part of it, but it has taught me the most discipline and what I’m truly capable of mentally. Super grateful to be a part of this article. More to come down the road.“
In a recent interview with the In The Kliq podcast, NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez gave her thoughts about who she would consider to be the new Four Horsewomen of NXT. Perez stated “So I actually saw a post about this the other day, and I agree with it very much. It would be me, Cora Jade, Stephanie Vaquer, and Giulia. I feel like we’re a little alike in different ways, in the same way being that we have always wanted to be a part of the WWE since we were young, we put in those years, those 1,000 hours to become great, and now we’re able to to be a part of the greatest women’s division in the world, and I think that that has a lot to do with us four women.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with the Stick To Wrestling podcast, former WWE and current AEW talent Adam Cole gave his thoughts about the rumors that WWE had wanted Cole to work as a manager for his call-up to the main roster prior to his release from the company in 2021. Cole stated “I truly do mean this. Pro wrestling is wild and I know there are discussions that go that not all of us hear about. No one ever personally told me, ‘Hey, we want to bring you to Raw or SmackDown to be a manager.’ I’m not saying that was never discussed amongst people without my knowledge. I certainly think it’s possible, but as far as them bringing me into a room and saying, ‘We want to keep you, but we want to use you as a manager,’ I never had that discussion.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with the Casual Conversations with The Classic podcast, Damian Priest gave his thoughts about wanting to team with Rhea Ripley and compete for the WWE World Tag Team Championship if given the opportunity to do so in WWE. Priest stated “If they let us do that, it’s very possible. If they allow Rhea to be my partner for the World Tag Team Titles, that’s 100% possible. I could see us beating anybody. There’s nobody right now in WWE that I feel like I can’t stand toe-to-toe with, and I know she thinks the same way. So, if you put us together in a team, I mean, you saw how we wiped the floor with [Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan]. That was cake work. You put us against the Tag Team Champions, I’m not saying it’ll be cake work, but we’ll get it done. So that’s on [Adam Pearce] and all the office people at the company to decide. That’s not for us to decide. We don’t make the matches. We just perform and beat everybody up in them.” Priest also gave his thoughts about the idea of WWE introducing a Mixed Tag Team Championship instead. Priest stated “Oh, that would be a game-changer, for sure, if we were allowed to do that. Of course, for Rhea and I to win titles together, that would be very meaningful. We’ve talked about it it was like, at least maybe they should bring back the Mixed Match Challenge and create a title for it so we could — just hand us the titles, because ain’t nobody beating us.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
