As noted before, Baron Corbin, Indi Hartwell, and Tegan Nox were released from WWE on Friday. Of the three, Hartwell and Nox were actually released by the company while Corbin had been informed that his contract will not be renewed and his departure is more of him just waiting out the expiration of his contract.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that the internal belief within WWE is that Corbin’s contract currently runs through the end of this year. It was reported that several indie talents have already expressed interest in a potential match with Corbin in the indies and one top promoter stated that they hope Corbin will continue his wrestling career.
In regards to Hartwell and Nox, it was reported that those spoken to confirmed that they were given 90-day non-compete clauses as part of the terms of their releases. Hartwell and Nox reportedly will officially become free agents starting in February of 2025.
In regards to Hartwell’s release, it was reported that the general backstage reaction over Hartwell’s release was one of surprise. Several talent and staff spoken to spoke highly of Hartwell and felt that she was coming into her own recently with her social media skits.
It was reported that Hartwell and Nox likely will need to have their work visas sorted out if they intend to continue to work in the United States due to their current work visas were with WWE.
In regards to potential additional releases, those spoken to reportedly stated that no other releases are currently expected for this round of roster cuts but the timeframe for this round of cuts is currently uncertain.
