JBL Makes Surprise Appearance & Nic Nemeth Retains TNA World Title at TNA Bound For Glory 2024

Saturday’s Bound For Glory 2024 event for TNA Wrestling at the Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit, Michigan featured JBL making a surprise appearance and Nic Nemeth defeating Joe Hendry to retain his TNA World Championship.

This match was notable for Frankie Kazarian winning this year’s Call Your Shot Gauntlet match earlier in the show and was the special guest referee during the TNA World title match.

During the match, Kazarian attempted to cash in his Call Your Shot trophy to insert himself into the match only to be prevented in doing so by Hendry. Near the end of the match, Kazarian saw the opportunity to do it again after both Hendry and Nemeth were knocked out for a bit and grabbed the trophy and motioned for a referee to come out since he was cashing in his shot.

This led to WWE Hall of Famer JBL coming out from the crowd and entered the ring while Kazarian was distracted putting his trophy down in the corner. JBL proceeded to knock out Kazrian after hitting a Clothesline from Hell and left the ring. Before JBL was able to leave the ringside area, he was stopped by Hendry and after some words by Hendry, JBL responded laying out Hendry with a Clothesline from Hell. This led to Nemeth’s brother Ryan Nemeth coming out from the crowd to confront JBL only for him to get laid out from a punch by JBL who then left for good.

After Hendry recovered, he got back into the ring only to get hit with a Danger Zone by Nemeth for a near fall after a second referee ran out. Following some back-and-forth action between the two, Nemeth countered a Standing Ovation into a Danger Zone for the pinfall victory to retain his TNA World title.
