Janel Grant Attorney & Vince McMahon Attorney Responds to Ring Boy Scandal Lawsuit

As noted before, a lawsuit was filed on Wednesday against WWE, WWE’s parent company TKO Group, former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, and Linda McMahon regarding the infamous WWE Ring Boys scandal in 1992.

In an official statement to Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston, Janel Grant’s attorney Ann Callis responded to the new lawsuit asking again for WWE to wave the NDAs on all former WWE employees who have experienced similar incidents in the company so that they can get their justice in court.

“The allegations in the ‘ring boys’ lawsuit against WWE are deeply troubling. Vince McMahon made sexual abuse and human trafficking a hallmark of WWE’s culture for decades. Survivors like Janel Grant and other former WWE employees deserve their day in court. All former WWE employees who experienced sexual abuse and harassment should be allowed to tell the truth by having their non-disclosure agreements waived. Ms. Grant stands by all WWE survivors and believes that Mr. McMahon, WWE, and all involved parties must be held accountable.”

In a separate official statement to Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston, Vince McMahon’s lawyer Jessica Rosenberg also responded to the new lawsuit and allegations stating that the negligance claims against McMahon are untrue and unfounded.

“More than 30 years ago, the columnist Phil Mushnick tried to make headlines with these same false claims. Those allegations were never proven and ultimately became the subject of a defamation lawsuit against Mr. Mushnick.

The negligence claims against Mr. McMahon that were asserted today rely on these same absurd, defamatory and utterly meritless statements by Mr. Mushnick. We will vigorously defend Mr. McMahon and are confident the court will find that these claims are untrue and unfounded.”

TJ was the one that opened up (the) conversation between Bret and Shawn for them to kind of reconcile. So, we can all thank TJ for being the person that opened up that door because TJ is somebody that Bret really respects, and (he) trusts his word. Shawn was so nice to us and I think Shawn for a long time felt, you know, I think he felt bad.

Carmella has been out of action for WWE since early 2023 due to maternity reasons over the birth of her child this past November and foot-related injury issues. Carmella recently provided an update on Instagram about dealing with “postpartum fog” issues she has worked to overcome following the birth of her child. Carmella statedthirty-seven years old.. this past year, i struggled to even look at myself in the mirror, not recognizing the woman staring back. sleepless nights, hormones all over the place, keeping a tiny human alive and thriving.. so much has changed. there have been good days, bad days, and so many blurry days in between. a once confident woman, now completely lost. who am i? why don’t i recognize myself? will i ever get back to who i was? the truth is, no. i won’t. because i’m a different person now. i’m a mother. we don’t talk enough about the struggles new moms face, because we have no choice but to show up and keep going. i’ve put myself last, putting everyone else’s needs first, but i’m realizing that’s no good for anyone. lately, i’ve been making it a priority to take care of myself so i can show up as the best mom, wife, and woman i can be. for the first time in over a year, i’m starting to emerge from the fog and step into this new version of me. i’m proud of who i am and the sacrifices i’ve made for my family. i’m not the person i was before i had my son, but i’m an even better version of myself—and i’m learning to love her. to all the moms out there in the postpartum fog, take a moment to recognize how far you’ve come. you’re a superwoman. give yourself grace during this time of transformation, and trust that you’ll find yourself again.
