Gail Kim Confirms Xia Zhao Signed New Contract with TNA
A recent virtual fan signing event for K&S WrestleFest featured former WWE and TNA wrestler and current TNA producer Gail Kim as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Kim confirming that Xia Zhao recently signed an official contract with TNA Wrestling.
Zhao currently works under the ring name of Le Ying Lee in TNA and was formerly known as Xia Li in WWE.
“Xia’s great. She’s with us… Yes, yep (Xia Zhao signed with TNA). I’m really excited for her. She’s such a hard worker. She’s so passionate and just experiencing that first match with TNA with us because that’s all she’s had so far, was just really nice. She actually exceeded my expectations.
What a presence… I think a lot of people were surprised that she was let go (by WWE). That’s just kind of the conversations I’ve had and everyone, everyone I’ve talked to in WWE speaks so highly — from office to talent — everyone speaks highly of her… Yeah, she can (kick your ass). She’s doing an MMA thing, she’s doing wrestling. I mean, just, what a woman.”

In a recent interview with WFAN’s Danielle McCartain, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle revealed that a new film based on his Olympic career is currently in production. Angle stated “I got a movie going on. Really proud of this. It’s a really great story. It’s about a kid from the streets of Pittsburgh who overcomes all these obstacles, including a broken neck, to win the Olympic gold medal. It’s only about my Olympic career, it’s not about my pro wrestling career. The directors are Ian and Eshom Nelms. They want this movie to be like a ‘Rocky’ type feel with a little bit of ‘The Fighter’ and ‘Iron Claw’ mixed in. I’m really excited about it. I’m going to be working behind the scenes for the first time. I won’t be in front of the camera. I’m really excited for the world to see it. We want to release it in theaters. It’s going to be a lot of fun for me. It’s probably the most excited I’ve been since the Olympics. Right now, we just got the script done. We’re shopping for investors, which shouldn’t be a problem. Af that, we pick the cast. This is going to happen probably in the next three months. We have a few (casting candidates), I can’t say any names, but we have a few good names we’re thinking about.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
