Triple H Comments on Black Male Wrestlers Representation Issues for WWE PLEs

As noted before, WWE has recently been dealing with online backlash over issues of a lack of black male wrestler representation on their Premium Live Events for over the past two years. This controversy originated over a tweet by a wrestling fan who brought up how it has been over 790 days since a black male wrestler won a singles match on a WWE PLE show.

During Saturday’s WWE Bad Blood 2024 post-show press conference in Atlanta, Georgia, WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque was asked a question about how he gauges making sure there there is representation and making sure deserving talents get opportunities for WWE PLE shows.

“I don’t see the difference in anybody. I don’t see the color. I don’t see the nationality. I don’t see any of it. I just see talent. I don’t see the difference between men and women. I see talent. We tell stories with those talent. How they can handle those stories and how they can represent those stories and how we can bring those stories forward. I don’t keep track of any of that. I do what’s relevant and what is best and what is being delivered the best. That’s what goes. No different than the men and women, who main events. Whatever the biggest stories are, that’s where we go.”

The Rock Comments on His Surprise WWE Return at WWE Bad Blood 2024

Saturday’s WWE Bad Blood 2024 event in Atlanta, Georgia featured Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson making his surprise return to WWE.

Following the show, The Rock released a video on Instagram talking about his surprise return appearance and stated he will share his thoughts regarding the past six months as it pertains to Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and The Bloodline when he feels like it.

“Is the final boss pissed? Is the final boss happy? Is he somewhere down the middle? Well, the final boss says this. The Rock is feeling a lot of things about what he just witnessed. The final boss — you keep that camera rolling — the final boss is feeling a lot of things. And you know why? Because there’s been a bunch of bullshit that’s been going on in the past six months.

You want to know how the final boss is feeling about all that? The final boss will tell you. But the final boss will tell you when the final boss is ready for you to know. But here’s the thing. What just happened out there, Bad Blood? Man. That was heat. Man. That was fire. Man. That was hell.

But what’s happening right here — this? This is heaven. Because it’s heaven every time the final boss, his music hits.

… Every time The Rock comes back to the WWE Universe. The Versace comes on, the glasses come on. The People Champ title, bestowed upon The Rock by Muhammad Ali’s wife herself. And The Rock becomes the final boss. But what just happened tonight. You felt the electricity. You felt the fire. That place was going crazy tonight before The Rock came out.

The final boss music hits. Bang. Roof blew off that place. The world will never be the same again. Because right now, The Rock is feeling good. Right now, everybody at home who just witnessed the final boss come out is feeling good. Right now, the world is feeling good.

… At the end of the day, you can hate a lot of things. And The Rock understands. Because The Rock hates a lot of things, too. The final boss hates a lot of things. You can hate a lot of things in your life. But the one thing that you will never hate is the final boss. You know, The Rock doesn’t like limousines. He doesn’t like limousine drivers. The Rock drives himself everywhere. Ladies and gentlemen, what you just felt was the final boss. There ain’t nothing like it. And there will never, ever be anything like it again. If you smell what The Rock is cookin’.”
