Nikki Garcia’s Husband Domestic Battery Arrest Update – Garcia Files Restraining Order Against Her Husband Artem Chigvintsev
As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Garcia’s husband Artem Chigvintsev arrested for domestic battery this past August in Napa, California. Garcia filed for her divorce from Chigvintsev this past September and the charges against him were dropped later that month.
TMZ reported that Garcia had filed a restraining order against Garcia this past Monday that was approved by a judge.
In her filing, Garcia stated that Chigvintsev had “tackled me multiple times and pinned me to the ground while our child was present.”
Garcia also claimed that since Artem was cut from “Dancing with the Stars,” he grew “increasingly angry, snapping at me, and yelling.” Garcia stated that they had discussions about his need to control his anger. On the morning of his arrest incident, Garcia stated that Artem went off on her over how their 4-year-old son’s English muffin should be toasted and screaming that she made their son a “picky eater.”
Garcia stated that she was so overwhelmed by Artem yelling at her that she threw Matteo’s toddler-sized 7 shoes toward him and had hit his leg but the shoes were so light they couldn’t have hurt. In response, Artem was stated to have grabbed their son and ran with him upstairs as the boy screamed for his mother.
Garcia also stated that she had tried to get into the room only for Artem to tackle her to the ground and grabbed her arms holding her on the ground for some time. Garcia also stated that they had gotten into another confrontation that ended with him pressing down on her chest and her grabbing at Artem’s neck in an attempt to make him let go over her fears that he was suffocating her.
Garcia’s petition also included details of another past incident of Artem being physically violent towards her in the mid-2023.
It was reported that the judge prohibited Artem from contacting or coming within 100 yards of her, their son, their home, etc. with the only exception for visitation or exchange of the child per court-ordered visits. It was also reported that the judge had denied Garcia’s request to leave the country with her son for a filming project in London prior to the scheduled full court hearing on October 21st.
