Shelton Benjamin Makes Surprise Debut on AEW Dynamite 5 Year Anniversary Show & Signed Contract with AEW

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite 5 Year Anniversary Show in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania featured former WWE talent Shelton Benjamin making his surprise official debut in AEW.

During the show, MVP was seen backstage with Renee Paquette who asked MVP what was his big special announcement for tonight. Before MVP was able to say anything, Prince Nana showed up to interrupt. Nana talked about his issues with MVP last week and how he used to be a wrestler and wouldn’t hesitate to get back in the ring again. MVP interrupted stating that sounds like a complaint and something for someone else, which was revealed to be Benjamin making his surprise debut appearance. MVP introduced Benjamin calling him a business partner and “head of the complaint department.” This led to a shocked reaction by Nana and Benjamin complimenting Nana on his cup of coffee that he was holding before walking away with MVP as Nana looked on.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Benjamin had signed an official contract with AEW a couple of weeks ago.

Sapp also reported that besides Benjamin, Bobby Lashley also recently signed an official contract with AEW as well and is expected to make his official debut in AEW soon. Sapp also reported that Benjamin, Lashley, and MVP are currently expected to reunite as a group with MVP to primarily serve as a manager and Benjamin and Lashley to primarily focus on wrestling.
