Jade Cargill Comments on Her In-Ring Progress in WWE

HOT 97’s Ebro, Laura Stylez, and Rosenberg radio show featured Jade Cargill as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Cargill’s thoughts about the progress of her in-ring work since joining WWE.

“One of the hardest things is, people understanding, I am three and some change [years] in this thing and they are comparing me to people who have been doing this for 10, 20, 15 years. And I’m out here working with these people but my name is being brought up with these great people ’cause they know. And I need people to understand like, it takes time. This is not something that happens overnight. This is, again, an art. There’s several layers to it.

I remember one of my trainers Bryan Danielson telling me that he didn’t get comfortable doing this until seven years. Seven years and this is one of the greatest technical wrestlers you’ve ever seen. So for him to say that, again, I just have to give myself grace. One of the hardest things is getting people to understand that. I’m still new at this, relatively new.”

Cody Rhodes Comments on Pros and Cons of WWE Reducing Their Live Events Schedule

As noted before, Endeavor President and COO and TKO Group President Mark Shapiro stated in a Goldman Sachs Communacopia & Technology Conference 2024 event this past September that WWE will be cutting back even more on their live events schedule for 2025.

A recent episode of the Superstar Crossover show featured Cody Rhodes as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Rhodes thoughts about the positives and negatives of WWE’s decision to scale back on their live events schedule.

“Pros and cons. Pro is more time for rest and recovery. Modern WWE with all the medical protocols that exist, in terms of to have the best nutrition, to have the mental clarity and focus to be dialed in physically, we still very much are a, I guess toxic to a degree, there is a vanity element to professional wrestling and sports entertainment. In terms of everyone’s preparation, that’s a good thing. In terms of being able to get that mental clarity and getting your time at home, but also be able to be locked in on work. To be able to get the best nutrition, the best recovery, especially.

The con for me is I only get better at wrestling by wrestling. That’s a con for me. How I can mitigate it is that I have the Nightmare Factory where we can wrestle and do things and train. Training for wrestling, I never believed in wrestling schools growing up because the only way you can really do wrestling is by wrestling in front of an audience. You have to do it in front of an audience. That will be a challenge for me because I feel like I’ve slid into the prime of my career and I feel really great, but I know if I take some steps back in terms of that, I’m going to have to mitigate it some way. I’m going to have to find, ‘How do I train for this if I’m not able to do Saturday-Sunday house shows heading into Monday Night Raw.’ I think the majority of the locker room and roster probably looks at it as a great thing, and from a company standpoint, business-wise, it makes the shows when they do come to your city more special versus just being a given. It’s mainly pro across the board, I just have to find a way to keep the wrestler in me wrestling.”

O’Neil stated “At the end of the day, what he built cannot be erased. It’s sad that the situation came to what it came to, but I don’t have any bad words for Vince. It’s very interesting to hear different perspectives on things, but at the end of the day, I’ll forever be grateful for what Vince McMahon built, the platform that he built for so many people. He’s human, just like anyone else. Do I condone some of the things that I’ve read? No, but I don’t know all the insides and outs of what’s going on and what’s not going on. All I know is that my life was changed because I had an opportunity to become a WWE superstar. So many people’s lives were changed because they had an opportunity to work for that company. Have we had our differences of opinion on certain things? Absolutely, but at the end of the day, he essentially helped me change my life. My kids are in college because of the opportunity that I have with WWE. They went to private school. All three of my children are in college on a scholarship doing well. I’ve been able to provide a great life for my family. I’ve been able to provide a great life for the people in the community. I wasn’t there in the ‘90s, I wasn’t there in the ‘80s. I wasn’t there in the early 2000s. I just know I was there from 2009 to the present. I’m grateful for the people in that locker room.
