Yuka Sakazaki Challenges Mariah May for AEW Women’s Title
Saturday’s taped AEW Collision show in Dayton, Ohio featured Yuka Sakazaki issuing a challenge for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
During the show, “The Glamour” Mariah May was interviewed backstage by Lexy Nair who brought up how May has yet to have her AEW Women’s World title celebration ceremony. May responded stating that she wasn’t going to do it in Dayton and insulted the city by calling it a “Wish.com” version of Cincinnati. May then talked about not wanting to hold her celebration ceremony until Mina Shirakawa comes back and how much she misses Shirakawa.
This led to Sakazaki showing up to interrupted and issued a challenge for May’s AEW Women’s title. May responded telling Sakazaki to get in line and when she is ready, she will rip her head off. Sakazaki responded stating “okay” and quickly left leading to May giving a puzzled reaction over what just happened.

In a follow-up segment, May attacked Sakazaki as she was making her way to the back following her victory against Serena Deeb. May attempted to hit a Storm Zero to Sakazaki who managed to fight it off and laid out May with a superkick in return. Sakazaki then grabbed May’s AEW Women’s title and held it up as May looked on.

Anna Jay AEW Return Vignette Airs on Saturday’s AEW Collision Show
Saturday’s taped AEW Collision show also featured a video aired hyping up Anna Jay’s upcoming return to AEW following her recent time away in Stardom.
During her promo, Jay talked about returning from her recent excursion in Stardom and how it left her wanting more. Jay then issued a warning to AEW’s women’s locker room and Mercedes Mone and Mariah May stating that she is coming back to get some gold.

This was Jay’s first appearance in AEW since this past June.
Stokely Hathaway Scouts AEW Tag Division on Saturday’s AEW Collision Show
Saturday’s taped AEW Collision show also featured a video aired featuring Stokely Hathway watching classic tag team matches from AEW’s history and teasing his renewed interesting in being a tag team manager and seeking AEW Tag Team titles gold.
The clips shown included Swerve in our Glory (Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee) vs. The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster), FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) vs. The Briscoes (Mark Briscoe & Jay Briscoe), and Sting & Darby Allin vs. The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson).

Roderick Strong vs. HOOK for FTW Title Announced for AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2024
Saturday’s taped AEW Collision show also featured one new match announced for the card of AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2024, which takes place on September 25th at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.
This new match announced was a FTW Championship match of Roderick Strong vs. HOOK (c).
This match was initially setup during this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show following HOOK issuing a challenge to Strong for a match at any place, any time. During Saturday’s Collision show, it was announced that this match was made official for Dynamite Grand Slam 2024 and will be for HOOK’s FTW title.
