Update on Britt Baker Being Suspended & Fined Over Backstage Incident with MJF at July 17th AEW Dynamite Show

As noted before, Britt Baker was suspended and fined following a backstage incident with MJF at AEW’s Dynamite 250 show on July 17th in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Baker recently responded on Twitter posting a photo with the text of “You ever heard a rumor about yourself and actually wanted to hear more. Like no way…..what did I do next?!”

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources provided some additional details and debunked other rumored details.

In regards to the cause of the incident, those spoken to reportedly confirmed that it was due to comments Baker had made about MJF that reached back to him. These comments reportedly were confirmed to have been due to an old issue between the two. Johnson reported that none of those spoken to were willing to go into the specifics of what Baker said and many were dismayed that the story even leaked since they felt it did not help anyone.

In regards to the location of the incident, Johnson reported that those spoken to debunked the rumors and reports that it had taken place in the AEW women’s locker room. Johnson reported that the rumors of MJF rushing into the women’s locker room or Will Ospreay entering the women’s locker room to speak to Baker were not true. Johnson reported that Ospreay had knocked on the women’s locker room door and asked to speak to Baker, who came out to a common area backstage. Ospreay reportedly was never in the women’s locker room during this talk.

Johnson reported that MJF’s argument with Baker also did not take place in the women’s locker room and instead took place in a common area backstage.

In regards to MJF punching a wall, Johnson reported that those spoken to denied that this incident took place during the actual argument. MJF reportedly was confirmed to have punched a wall but did so out of frustration after their argument was over and he was not with Baker at the time of the incident.

In regards to Baker’s suspension, Johnson reported that the reason was due to AEW officials had felt that she precipitated the situation and was the responsible party over it. AEW officials reportedly were sympathetic towards MJF responding to the comments Baker had made towards him and defending his girlfriend Alicia Atout over comments and threats Baker had made towards her as well.

Johnson reported that Baker’s suspension is set to end this week and she was expected to be at tonight’s AEW Dynamite show.
