Charlette Renegade AEW Absence & Injury Status Update

As noted before, Charlette Renegade has been out of action for AEW and Ring of Honor since this past December due to an undisclosed medical issue that was recently revealed to not be a concussion-based injury.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Renegade was in attendance backstage at this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite 250 show in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was reported that the reason for Renegade’s visit was due to her trying to get medical clearance for a potential in-ring return that she has been trying to achieve for some time.

It was reported that Renegade’s sister Robyn Renegade was also in attendance backstage at the show. The Renegades reportedly have recently developed a close relationship with Mercedes Mone.

Tony Khan Comments on His Favorite AEW Dynamite Moments

ComicBook.com held a recent interview with AEW CEO Tony Khan. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about what are some of his favorite moments from AEW Dynamite history in celebration of the series 250th episode this week.

Debut – Sting at Winter is Coming 2020. The arrival of Sting.
Return – Darby Allin in Atlanta. It was February 2020 to set up his AEW Revolution match against Sammy Guevara coming out of the Jon Moxley versus Jeff Cobb match.
Title change – Mr. Brodie Lee winning the TNT Championship in Daily’s Place to close out Saturday Night Dynamite after the NBA playoffs.
Promo – Jon Moxley first coming back from treatment. I thought it was super powerful. He wanted to talk to the fans, and that was a completely real moment. I’m very proud and appreciative of Jon. I really owe him a lot in wrestling and in life.
Matches – Hangman Page vs. Bryan Danielson, 60-minute draw from Winter is Coming 2021, and Thunder Rosa vs. Dr. Britt Baker, Lights Out match from St. Patrick’s Day Slam 2021.

AEW News & Notes

AEW recently announced that they will be holding an All In celebration event on August 24th at the BOXPARK Wembley in London, England.

AEW also recently announced that they will be holding a new AEW Collision show on September 21st at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. It was announced that tickets will officially go on sale starting on July 24th for the pre-sale and July 26th for the general public.

Headlocked Comics recently announced that Darby Allin and Danhausen will be making an appearance at their booth at this year’s San Diego Comic Con event on July 26th in San Diego, California.

In a recent interview with the Friday Night Fights podcast, Darby Allin gave his thoughts about his habit of taking risks in the ring for his matches and how he would rather deal with physical pain than mental pain. Allin stated “Honestly, growing up, I was a dishwasher. I worked at the 99-cent store. I’ll tell you right now, I’d rather get kicked in the face with thumbtack-superglued shoes than ever work as a dishwasher again. I don’t take any of it for granted. I’d rather go through the physical pain than the mental pain any day.” Allin also gave his thoughts about his favorite moments of his AEW career so far. Allin stated “Everything has been such a trip. It’s so hard to say off the top of my head, but just the fact that I was with the company from the ground level, it’s so awesome to see the first episode of Dynamite and then now we’re at 250, it’s just cool to be along for the whole ride and experience everything. It’s just awesome, and the cool thing about it all is I get to do it on my terms, and everything you see out there is my ideas, and they just tell me, ‘Alright, Darby. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Bryan Danielson gave his thoughts about winning this year’s Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament and the chemistry he has had with Hangman Adam Page in the ring. Danielson stated “Me and Kenny, unfortunately, we’ve only had the one match. When I came to AEW, I envisioned having these series of matches with Kenny. Instead, it’s been Hangman, and I’ve learned firsthand how incredible he is. Hangman’s the man. That dude’s awesome. When AEW started, he was the one everyone was pointing to as the future, as the guy who was going to lead the company forward. The personality he brings, the intensity–I think that’s where we find our chemistry. We both love these intense matches. There’s not a lot of pulled punches, right? And maybe that’s what makes the two of us so good together.“

In a recent episode of the My World with Jeff Jarrett podcast, co-host Jeff Jarrett gave his thoughts about Bryan Danielson winning this year’s Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament being a very emotional moment for him. Jarrett stated “That picture, we are currently showing a picture [of] Martha in the ring, so had just announced Bryan Danielson the winner, Bryan has the belt over his shoulder, me and him are jointly lifting the cup. The old adage, ‘A picture says a thousand words.’ To me, it really does. It epitomizes, to me, Owen’s in-ring skills, because he was baby brother, and I’m not saying held to that standard, but Bret got to the WWF first, and he was the Hart Foundation and had that tag team run and just kind of the spotlight had been on Bret. But I think Bret would even tell you about Owen’s in-ring skills and how really, really, really good they were. So for me to have the opportunity to stand in the ring, in Calgary…Martha, myself, and Bryan, a good bud, I’ve respected him for so many years, but I believe currently he’s the very best in-ring professional wrestler because from bell-to-bell, he tells stories with passion and heart. For him to win the tournament, me [being] a part of it, that was really, really, really, inside for me, very emotional. Owen being aware of that, which I believe that’s he’s fully aware, I hope it put a smile on his face. The Owen that I know and love, he absolutely would have loved it.
