Mercedes Mone “Victory Toast” Segment Announced for Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Show

AEW CEO Tony Khan recently announced one new segment for tonight’s AEW Dynamite show at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

This new segment announced was a Mercedes Mone Double Championship “Victory Toast” celebration segment.

Jeff Jarrett on His Men’s Owen Hart Cup Match Against Hangman Page Being Very Special for Him

A recent episode of the My World with Jeff Jarrett podcast featured co-host Jeff Jarrett giving his thoughts about his match against Hangman Adam Page for this year’s Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament on the July 3rd AEW Dynamite show.

“I gave it my all. Sometimes, life doesn’t always turn out the way…I said that in some comments this weekend, doesn’t always turn out the way we expect it to. But what are we to do except look at life as no obstacles, just opportunities? I can tell you this much, you don’t get paid on effort alone, but the effort that I put in last Wednesday, I will say this, Karen came over to me, and she said, ‘I’m not gonna come back around you again until it’s time to go out. I love you.’ She knew I was dialed in, and I was definitely dialed in. Didn’t work, didn’t turn out, but the effort was there, the emotion was there, the Wintrust Arena…I’ll remember that. I will remember the match, I’ll remember that night. Didn’t turn out the way I wanted, but I will definitely remember that night.”

Jarrett also gave his thoughts about fans saying that match was one of their favorite matches of his career.

“It was special to me, not so much for the mechanics…. In 2024, I don’t think you can expect a banger out of ‘The Last Outlaw,’ but also I think in 1986, you might not have expected a banger match, as the kids call it. But as far as the emotional investment in it, that was, because we often talk about all that. Creative’s subjective, but to me, one of the things that’s not subjective is the way to resonate is the emotional investment, and I was emotionally invested in that. I think the feedback and the voicemails and the texts and the comments, I think at the very core of it, it’s one of the reasons why we all love professional wrestling. You can get caught up in certain matches, stories, and storylines. But if there is a real set of circumstances that are reality-based, and for me, it was a lot of reality-based, it is easily just, I don’t say you want to believe, you believe. You just get caught up in the moment. For me, that’s what it was all about. The Chicago folks in the house, it was cool. To me, they were emotionally invested. When I locked the Sharpshooter on, man, they came up. In my brain, so did I. It was a fun moment. Who in the bell would have thought we’d be talking about this in 2024? I got a Sharpshooter in the ring on a former AEW World Champion in his return match. It was a very surreal night for me in so many ways. I’m very grateful for it.”

Sweet Chin Disco recently announced that they will be holding an after party for AEW’s upcoming All In 2024 event on August 25th at the Crystal Club in London, England. It was announced that Max Caster will perform live and Prince Nana will have a special guest DJ set.

AEW recently released a new AEW Timelines video featuring the entire trilogy of matches between Hangman Adam Page and Bryan Danielson ahead of their 2024 Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup Finals match on tonight’s AEW Dynamite show.

Adult Swim recently announced that they have partnered with AEW for “Battle for the Booty” event on July 25 during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con 2024 convention. Two matches were announced for this event which are a tag team match of Johnny TV & Taya Valkyrie vs. “Fang + Meatwad” and a tag team match of Willow Nightingale & Orange Cassidy vs. “Rachel and Mr. Frog”.

Brandon Culter filed a trademark for “Brandon Cutler” on July 8th for wrestling and entertainment-purposes to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Jeff Jarrett gave his thoughts about feeling honored to help introduce Owen Hart to the new generation of wrestling fans. Jarrett stated “Never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d be here. I get to introduce my friend to an entirely new generation of wrestling fans. It makes me very emotional. All the way back in May of 1999, I never thought that all these years later I would be continuing my in-ring career, which a blessing beyond my wildest imaginations, or that there would be this Owen Hart Foundation, which Owen’s wife created and does so much good for so many people all over the world. Owen’s children are grown up, and they represent their father so proudly. I love that Owen is being recognized as a father, a family man, a husband, a brother, and a professional wrestler. We’re doing it in Calgary, a place that meant a lot to him. Owen’s core really defined him. His integrity set him apart from everyone I’ve known. It’s an honor to share this with the world.“

In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, Konosuke Takeshita gave his thoughts about the potential of him facing Kazuchika Okada in a match in AEW in the future. Takeshita stated “I think it’s destiny. Even before I came to the U.S., some people said that Takeshita vs. Okada was a dream match, and while we had completely different paths, now we belong to the same organization. When the time is right, I think that the match vs. Okada will happen, and I’d like to make it a match that attracts more attention and reaches wrestling fans around the world than it does now.” (English translation via Fightful.com)

In a recent episode of the Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross gave his thoughts about MJF’s recent return to AEW and what it means for the company. Ross stated “I’m a fan of his. He’s like any other young guy, he’s just gotta mature. He’s talented as hell. Don’t know where all he’s headed, what his stops along the way are going to be, but I’m glad he’s on our team. He’s very underrated in a lot of ways, but he gets a lot of publicity, he gets a lot of credit, and for that, I’m happy for him. There’s no bigger fan in wrestling than MJF. He’s a fan of the business. He’s a fan of the product. I know there was a lot of speculation that he was going to leave and go to WWE, and thank goodness that didn’t happen. But I’m a big fan of his. He’s like any other young kid. He’s gotta mature, he’s gotta come along. His age has gotta catch up with his experience. He’s very bright, very, very bright. Sometimes I think that he misuses his clout a little bit. I mean that he needs more patience with himself, and he needs to understand that it’s not always about him, but it is more often than not. He’s really good, he’s very talented. I just think that he’s gotta slow down sometimes and enjoy the journey, and not be…I don’t know how to put this. I think sometimes he’s impatient, he needs to take a deep breath and enjoy his journey. If he did, he’d probably have a better overall experience. But he’s got a lot of ability. He’s smart. He’s an important part of our team, very important part of our team. I just think he could enjoy wrestling a little bit more than he does. He’s very cerebral, he’s a thinker. But I’m all for him. He’s a talented kid. I think sometimes he could have more fun, and sometimes he uses his judgment in a somewhat…not self-serving, but he can have more fun. He could have more fun and not take everything so seriously because he’s really, really talented. I think he’s terrific. He’s a hell of a guy. I’m all for his success. In a recent episode of The Nikki & Brie Show podcast featuring Britt Baker as the guest, co-host Nikki Garcia (former Nikki Bella in WWE) gave her thoughts about being interested in coming out of retirement for a match against Baker in AEW. Baker stated “You don’t have to miss it. It’s right here for you. Do you want it? Because I’m right here, if you need an opponent.” Garcia responded stating “I would come out of retirement for you.” Baker responded back stating “I would love nothing more.” Garcia responded stating “You know what?
