AEW Airs Collision 1-Year Anniversary Video Package at Saturday’s AEW Collision Show

Saturday’s AEW Collision show featured AEW airing a special video package celebrating the one-year anniversary of their Collision television series.

In an interesting note, this video package did not feature any footage involving CM Punk. Punk’s tenure in AEW was notable for Punk being involved in several backstage incidents and issues and his firing from the company this past September over a backstage incident and confrontation with AEW CEO at this past August’s All In event.

Christian Cage Calls Out Bang Bang Gang for Trios Titles & Claims He’s Tony Khan’s New Dad

Saturday’s AEW Collision show also featured Christian Cage holding a Father’s Day Special ceremony.

During the show, The Patriarchy were in the ring and Mother Wayne demanded for the crowd to show their respect and introduced Cage, who made his way out to the ring and sat down in a fancy chair.

Cage stated that he did not expect the most important holiday of the year to be in a rust bucket and told the Youngstown folk to shut their mouth in response to their booing. Cage then talked about today being the untimely passing of his adopted son Nick Wayne’s father’s passing. Cage stated that Nick’s father’s passing was the best thing that ever happened to him and told Nick that he loves him and called him his son.

This led to Wayne giving a card to Cage as a gift. Cage opened up the card and read it that was in praise of him as Nick’s new dad.

Cage then looked upon a photo frame that was covered up in the ring that was revealed to be a gift from Killswitch. Cage took off the black covering revealing a smudged painting of Cage. After a half-hearted thanks over the gift, Cage proceeded to talk more about the card that Wayne gave him instead and Wayne being a wordsmith and this gift being something that he will cherish forever. Cage then turned his direction towards Killswitch and told him why he can’t be more like Nick leading to an upset Killswitch trying to leave the ring only to be berated by Cage telling him to get back where he was standing, which Killswitch did after a brief staredown.

Cage then turned his attention towards the AEW World Championship talking about how his shoulder was up before the three count in his title match with Swerve Strickland. Cage stated that the EVPs could show the video to the crowd about this issue but he is not a complainer and did not want it done. Cage then stated that he has a different goal in mind and that is to win the Unified AEW Trios Championship and it would be his gift to Wayne and Killswitch.

Cage then turned his attention towards Tony Khan and talked about how his father Shad gave his son millions upon millions to start AEW so that he would see a smile on his son’s face. Cage then claimed that he is the greatest signing AEW has ever done and also claimed that he is Khan’s new father and The Patriarchy is the greatest ever.
