Update:
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Jeff Hardy is currently expected to make his official return to TNA Wrestling at this Friday’s Against All Odds 2024 event.
Johnson reported that Hardy’s current role and TNA’s plans for him for their Against All Odds 2024 event and this Saturday’s Impact! television tapings are currently not known.
As noted before, Jeff Hardy’s contract with AEW was originally set to expire at the same time as his brother Matt Hardy’s contract, which expired at the end of this past March, but had been extended to make up for time he was away from the company due to injuries and his suspension from a DUI arrest. Hardy has been out of action for AEW since this past February due to a broken nose injury.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Hardy’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire on Friday and will become a free agent.
Sapp reported that it was originally believed that AEW would have added significant time to Hardy’s contract to make up for time lost due to injuries and his DUI suspension but this does not appear to have been the case in the end.
Sapp also reported that while AEW officials and Matt Hardy had talks about a potential new deal this past April, those spoken to stated that there have not been extended talks regarding the potential of bringing him back to the company at the moment.
Sapp also reported that those spoken to within TNA Wrestling stated that they were interested in potentially bringing in Hardy due to his history with the company. Those spoken to reportedly also stated that Matt’s current work in TNA has went so well that TNA officials recently asked him to work additional dates for the company.
