This Year’s Blood & Guts Match Announced For This July in Nashville & Swerve Strickland Rejects The Elite’s Offer to Join Their Team

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show featured the official announcement of this year’s Blood & Gut match between The Elite and Team AEW taking place this July in Nashville, Tennessee.

During the show, Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana came out to the ring and Strickland proceeded to talk about his upcoming AEW World title match against Will Ospreay at Forbidden Door 2024. Strickland talked about there will only be one real killer in the ring and how he got his nickname of Killshot because if you don’t pull that trigger, Swerve sure will, in reference to his past time in Lucha Underground. Strickland then turned his attention towards The Elite and proceeded to insult them stating his priase of Ospreay for being a fighting champion unlike the EVPs who have hardly defended their AEW World Tag titles.

This led to The Elite coming out and Kazuchika Okada responding that “this is his house, bitch.” Nicholas Jackson responded first apologizing for Okada’s comments before running down those who have face them and how half of the roster has left because of them. Nicholas then talks about how the trolls and bots still doubt them and the boys in the back don’t think they are violent. Nicholas issued a challenge to AEW’s best in the most violent match in the company, which he revealed to be Blood & Guts.

Nicholas then offered a spot on Team Elite to Strickland as their fifth man and offered a pair of their new Young Bucks Reebok Pumps shoes as a gift. Strickland responded stating that he does not wear size 9s and mocked Matthew Jackson saying that no one wears pearl necklaces. Strickland then proceed to insult The Elite some more and called himself a philanthropist and handed the shoes to Prince Nana who tossed them into the crowd. This led to the Young Bucks being upset over what just happened and Strickland’s rejection of their offer and stated that it looks like the “injury bug” has just arrived for Strickland. The Elite and Strickland then started preparing to brawl before The Acclaimed ran out to save Strickland and cleared the ring of The Elite, who got out before The Acclaimed could get their hands on them.

This led to AEW Interim EVP Christopher Daniels coming out and demanded for every to stop since they still had a lot of stuff left to do for tonight’s show and told everyone except Perry to leave the ringside area since Perry’s qualifier match for the TNT Championship Ladder match is taking place right now.

Later in the show, AEW commentator Excalibur announced that this year’s Blood & Guts match will be taking place on July 24th at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
