Cody Rhodes Comments on His Goal to Become “Most Profitable Talent” Ever in WWE

A recent episode of the Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg podcast featured Cody Rhodes as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Rhodes’ thoughts about his current long-term career goal of wanting to become the “most profitable talent” that WWE has ever had in their company.

“One goal, and I think I have two particular goals that I’ve really put in mind because I’m a big long-term and short-term goal individual. A long-term goal for me is that I would like to be the most profitable talent that WWE has ever had. I know who hangs in that group. Your Austin 3:16s [Steve Austin], your Hustle, Loyal, Respect John Cenas, I know what I have been doing and I know the length that I have to keep doing this for this goal to become a reality. That one is a little inside baseball and not all that glamorous, but even today, I would like to give WWE everything I possibly have because I feel like so much has been given to me coming out of WrestleMania XL. Sure, we worked for it and earned it, and I do think I’m the right person for the job, but I would like to make sure, when it’s time, I leave them in the best possible place they’ve ever been.”

WWE Denies Report of The Rock Arriving Hours Late for WrestleMania 40

The Wrap reported that their sources stated that production for the upcoming new Red One film featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was plagued by issues related to Johnson’s behavior on the set.

It was reported that Johnson would often show up as much as eight hours late to the set for filming causing production and schedule related issues to build up to the point that the film’s budget had inflated by around $50 million. Johnson reportedly is also alleged to have used some of the budget money meant for the film to help his own Seven Bucks Productions studio instead.

It was also reported that this was not an isolated incident and a number of other television and film productions had faced similar issues over Johnson’s chronic tardiness. Those spoken to reportedly stated that the main issue revolves around Johnson’s refusal to work more than a four or five hour day.

Johnson reportedly was also late arriving at the venue by around three hours for WWE’s WrestleMania 40 Night 1 event in Philadelphia. This was something that was denied by WWE in statement sent to the outlet in response. WWE EVP for Talent Relations and Head of Communication Chris Legentil stated “Dwayne was not only on time for WrestleMania, he was hours early to help with rehearsal and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire run.”
