CMLL Wrestlers U.S. Visas Status Update
As noted before, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre has been dealing with a major work visa-related legal issues affecting many of their talents from being able to work in the United States.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that CMLL’s work visa issues for their talents is currently in the process of being resolved. Meltzer reported that this issue could be resolved as early as this week. Among the notable CMLL talents who have been affected by this issue reportedly includes Soberano Jr., Templario, Blue Panther, Dulce Gardenia, Sagrado, Capitan Suicida, Espiritu Negro, Euforia, Fugaz, Robin, Sangre Imperial, and Los Gemelo Diablos.
In a follow-up report, Meltzer reported in a recent Wrestling Observer Radio show that CMLL talents who have recently appeared in AEW are currently not involved in this situatuon due to them already having valid work visas. This would include Mistico, Hechicero, Volador Jr, and Mascara Dorada.
Meltzer stated:
“Everyone who has appeared in AEW has nothing to do with this, they already have their visas. What happened was an independent promotion got visas for a lot of the CMLL guys long before AEW was using them.
Rush is back as you saw on Saturday night. He had been having a visa issue as well. Dralistico I’m presuming should be back, although he hasn’t been back yet.”
