Update on The Rock’s Post-WrestleMania WWE Work Schedule
As noted before, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is currently believed to be wrestling at least one more match this year following next month’s WrestleMania 40 event. This additional match is currently believed to be a singles match between Johnson and Roman Reigns.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that due to Johnson’s upcoming filming schedule for a new film titled The Smashing Machine, this would prevent Johnson from working at WWE’s next event in Saudi Arabia this May. Meltzer reported that Johnson’s availability for this August’s SummerSlam 2024 event is also in doubt due to the event taking place only one day after filming for Johnson’s newest film concludes.
Meltzer reported that the earliest Johnson could work another match for WWE this year would be at their second Saudi event this November baring any changes to his current work schedule.
Update on WWE Considering Plans to Bring Back Brock Lesnar
As noted before, WWE is currently believed to be considering to potentially bring back Brock Lesnar to the company. WWE originally had dropped all of their plans for Lesnar’s potential return due to his involvement in the recent Vince McMahon sex trafficking lawsuit.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that WWE officials are believed to currently have a less hard line over Lesnar not coming back to the company than before.
One source spoken to within WWE reportedly stated that there was no movement at all right now in regards to the potential of Lesnar being brought back as a performer for the company.
