AEW: Sneak Preview for New Dynamite Stage, FTW Title Match Announced for Wed. Dynamite Show, Kyle O’Reilly on His AEW Return

AEW Releases Sneak Preview of New Stage for AEW Dynamite for Wednesday’s Show

Sports Illustrated held a recent interview with AEW CEO Tony Khan. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about AEW debuting a new stage design for AEW Dynamite at tonight’s show at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia.

“Tonight is the perfect time, especially coming off an amazing AEW Revolution. In many ways, it was the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new one. Sting ended his phenomenal three-year run in AEW and the most iconic career in wrestling, going out on the highest of notes as an undefeated AEW tag team champion. So tonight is the start of a new era, and people are going to be very excited when they see this new set on Dynamite.”

AEW Head of Global Television Michael Mansury was also interviewed for his thoughts about AEW’s new stage design for AEW Dynamite.

“When I joined AEW in November of ’22, there was already a change in the works coming for Dynamite. That started in January of this year with a brand-new set and brand-new graphics package, and the reception was pretty mixed to it. But something was missing.

The company has a very rich history despite being a five-year-old brand, and Tony has a wonderful sense of history. We did a throwback episode of Dynamite for Dynamite 200, and the reception was pretty big. Tony really listens to our fan base, and there was a call to go back to the roots of AEW.

We deployed parts of that at Grand Slam, and I wanted to expand upon it and make it bigger. We have so many elements coming that fans are really going to enjoy. This past Sunday, we reintroduced the EVP elevator for The Young Bucks. Tonight you’ll see an enhanced evolution of the past. There is a nice tip of the cap that brought us to the dance, and a look that will really strike a chord with our fans.

We have a phenomenal partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, and this is a result of both sides coming together to create the final product. We also have a phenomenal post-production team, with so many great, creative people.

Plus, our fans are very passionate. We listen. We’ve heard the calls for the old-school AEW vibes. We believe we’re delivering the next evolution of AEW with a tap of the cap to what got us here. I hope this is a look and feel our fan base is going to appreciate.”

As part of the article, AEW released two teaser photos of their new set for AEW Dynamite.

Kyle O’Reilly Comments on His Return to AEW at Revolution 2024

As noted before, this past Sunday’s AEW Revolution 2024 event in Greensboro, North Carolina featured Kyle O’Reilly making his surprise return to AEW. Prior to his return, O’Reilly had been absent from AEW since June of 2022 due to a neck injury and neck fusion surgery.

O’Reilly reflected earlier today on Instagram about his recent return to AEW.

“I felt the love and the energy in Greensboro in my heart all the way down to my loins. The same loins that Sting brutally attacked in the Summer of ‘22 which caused a chain reaction rippling up my spine causing my neck to (for lack of a better term) explode. However, I am a peaceful man with no lust for revenge. All I desire is to stand on my own two feet again under those bright lights and feel that magical feeling we wrestlers are addicted to. Make sure you tune into @aew Dynamite tonight because it’s the best thing to watch on TV and the greatest show on Earth.”
