Sunday’s Revolution 2024 event featured AEW airing a special tribute video to Sting and Sting coming out to a special entrance for his retirement match at the event.
Prior to the start of the match, Ric Flair came out to be at ringside and was followed by Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat who was announced to be the special guest time keeper for the match.

After The Young Bucks and Darby Allin made their entrances for the main event AEW World Tag Team Championship Tornado Tag Team match, a video aired on the big screen featuring Sting walking into a theater room and watching clips and photos throughout his career, albeit with no WWE or TNA footage shown.
After the video ended, Sting’s AEW “Arrival” entrance theme played and Sting’s sons came out dressed as Surfer Sting and Wolfpac Sting. The entrance theme then changed to Sting’s famous “Seek & Destroy” theme from his days in WCW and he came out for his entrance.
Itβs showtime.

The finish to this match involved Sting kickout out at one following a pair of EVP Triggers and pinfall attempts by the Young Bucks. The Young Bucks then hit a stereo superkick to Sting and setup a TK Driver only for Allin to run up to the apron and tossed Nicholas Jackson off the turnbuckle onto the floor. Sting escaped from Matthew Jackson’s hold and hit a Scorpion Death Drop for a near fall. Allin then hit a Coffin Drop to Matthew and Sting followed it with a Scorpion Deathlock to Matthew for the submission victory to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
As a result of his victory, Sting ends his career in AEW with an undefeated record of 28 wins and zero losses.
Following the match, Sting gave a speech to the crowd reflecting on his legendary career and thanked everyone and Allin for their support they have shown towards him. Sting’s speech was cut short due to AEW running out of time on their live broadcast on Thriller and Bleacher Report.
THANK YOU STING!

Denise Salcedo reported that the full farewell speech from Sting that got cut off from the live broadcast included AEW CEO Tony Khan and AEW’s locker room coming out to celebrate Sting’s final match of his wrestling career.
The entire off-air segment. Sting brought out Tony Khan, spoke to the crowd and then the entire locker room came out, very beautiful moment. #AEWRevolution pic.twitter.com/U3MiitWiU1
