Swerve Strickland vs. Hangman Page vs. Samoa Joe for AEW World Title Set for AEW Revolution 2024
Wednesday’s Dynamite show featured Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page going to a 30-minute time limit draw for their #1 Contender match for the AEW World Championship at Revolution 2024, which takes place on March 3rd at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The finish to this match involved Strickland hitting a Swerve Stomp to Page but hurt his ankle in the process leading to Page getting some valuable time to recover. Strickland attempted a JML Driver to Page who escaped the hold and countered with an ankle twist to Strickland’s injured ankle. Page then grabbed Strickland and placed him on the apron leading to Strickland fighting back and hit a Dead Eye to Page off the apron and through a table on the outside. Strickland tossed Page back into the ring and setup a Swerve Stomp only for Page to dodge away and attempted a Buckshot Lariat in return that was countered by Strickland who hit a JML Driver. This led to Strickland delaying his pin attempt on Page which resulted in the bell ringing and the match ending in a time limit draw.
Following the match, Strickland grabbed a microphone and stated that this was not going to end this way and demanded five more minutes. Page grabbed a microphone and responded stating that Strickland needed to beat him to become the number one contender but since he didn’t, that means he failed. Page stated that Strickland will not become the World Champion and it is over for him. Page then left thinking he managed to one up Strickland only to be stopped by AEW commentator Tony Schiavone who announced that Tony Khan stated that since there were two number one contenders, then that means the AEW World title match at Revolution 2024 will now be a Three-way match for the title. This led to a shocked reaction from Page and him yelling out in anger over the decision.
Straight from Tony Khan, it will be a three way match at #AEWRevolution for the #AEW World Championship!

New AEW Tag Team Champions Crowned at AEW Dynamite, Young Bucks Respond with Celebratory Beatdown
Wednesday’s Dynamite show also featured Sting & Darby Allin defeating Big Bill & Ricky Starks to become the new AEW World Tag Team Champions.
The finish to this match involved Allin and Sting hitting a set of corner splashes to Big Bill followed by a Code Red by Allin. Bill then went to the outside leading to Allin hitting a Coffin Drop in return. Starks attempted a running attack to Sting only for Sting to lay him out and locked in a Scorpion Deathlock while Big Bill tried to climb to the apron resulting in Allin hopping onto his back and Bill dropping him through a table on the outside. Starks managed to grab the ropes thinking that it would break Sting’s hold but was informed by the referee that there were no rope breaks in a Tornado match leading to Stark eventually managing to escape the hold. Starks then took off a turnbuckle cover and sent Sting right into it leading Starks hitting a spear to Sting for the near fall. Starks attempted another spear only for Sting to catch him and countered with a Scorpion Death Drop for the pinfall victory for his team to become the new AEW World Tag Team Champions.
Sting, at 64 years of age, is a Champion.
